List of Meadowood Assisted Living And Memory Care's Reviews
I can only review with regards to my interactions with staff as I do not have anyone being cared for here. I have to say that ALL the staff is super friendly, cares about the residents like family and love what they do. They have lots of resident events and know the name, story and room number of all their residents. The staff is superb!
Very nice facility. It was clean odor free. The residents were engaged. The staff member I spoke with was a wealth of information. So helpful. The staff members I observed were pleasant and smiling. They looked like individuals who enjoy what they are doing. I love the way the facility is laid out with quads so that residents get the opportunity to make friends. They also had a respite room available which is what I was hoping I'd find. They were extremely accommodating and seemed to be as flexible as possible. The only downside was the cost. However, they have an "a la cart" plan which could be more affordable depending on the circumstances. The courtyard was very inviting. I have looked at other establishments whose courtyards did not offer seating in the courtyard outside the memory care section. Overall a very nice establishment
Very nice facility. I only have a couple of concerns. My husband is the only male in the Memory Care at Meadowood. This is very hard for him not having any male friends. He is fine with the 13 ladies, but I think he would be much happier having another male to associate with. I was told when he entered and two other times later, that another male was moving in on a given date. That never happened. Another issue I am having is getting his laundry done on a regular basis. I have done it myself many times, but for what I pay, they should do it. I just learned last week that workers there are going to be required to be COVID vaccinated. This was shock to me that this had not been required already. Honestly, I would not have put my husband there had I known this. I spoke with an employee who is leaving due to this policy. This was very upsetting to me. Patient’s safety should be put first. Three weeks ago there was a positive test on an employee and a patient in the assisted living unit. This could have been avoided. This put all kinds of restrictions on me when I went to visit, which I do every other day. If the residents were required to be vaccinated, why on earth weren’t the employees???
Magnificent Care....Pleasant Environment....All needs are met 7 days a week....Most importantly, the staff are friendly in a loving way....they are all like family and are very compassionate....I would HIGHLY recommend Meadowood Assisted Living to anyone considering long term care for their loved one....
My mom has lived in Meadowood's memory care for the past year. I am confident that she is well cared for, safe, and her needs are met. Moreover, I have appreciated how the staff there has managed life for the residents during COVID restrictions. Communication has been excellent, and while my mom has been confused by the changes in her world, she has been cheerful.
My mother was here for almost 5 years and although she was comfortable at the facility I cannot recommend it. Over the years we had a revolving door of staff. Caregivers changed almost weekly and no need to learn the names as they would not be around long. They appeared to be usually understaffed. All the residents have call buttons and you will be told it is usually a 10 min response. This does not happen. 30 minutes is more the norm. Especially in the evenings. I have been there after about 8 and walked the entire facility and could not find a caregiver for help. I assume they were there but not available. Unfortunately, I feel this is probably happening at most facilities. However, that is still not acceptable. Also, the on staff nursing also changed almost every few months. I do not know how many different nurses I met at the facility but every time I needed one they were different. This also caused a problem with medications. The med techs worked hard but were understaffed or overworked, don't know but they made too many mistakes. At least three times my mom was given incorrect meds and it caused some server reactions that would have been critical if I had not been there to correct them. Screwing up meds is a Major problem as this is the one thing you depend on them getting right. Don't know how many times I found meds just sitting in a cup in the room. No one checked to see if my mom actually took them. When brought up to the current management the solution I was offered was "we will do more training" not a good situation. The food was only fair and I ate there frequently. Again, a continuous turnover is cooks was part of the problem. The rest of the staff worked hard but it seemed more in fear of the director than anything else. I saw many good staff "let go". There are a couple of good ones left but not sure how they stay there. Currently the current management is concerned about their liability, making money, and not the welfare of the residents. My mom has left. The place looks good but underneath there are real problems. If you put you loved one there be aware you will need to monitor all they do to make sure they get the care you are paying for, if you can't be there 3-4 time a week, well good luck. Also, in the google review you will see reviews from Paula, 5 Star review, she is the director, Traci,5 star review, staff, and Allison, 5 star review, also staff at the facility. It get more hilarious as Paula, the director, thanks all of them for a great review, even her review. That says a lot about the people working there when they have to write their own review.I gave it 2 stars as it was not all bad and I am not sure any other place is better. It looks nice, but the staff turnover, caregiver response, food is all sub par. Look at lots of other places before putting you loved one here. It is hard to move you mom or dad once they get in so make your choice well informed.
The owner Tim Buchanan cares more about the baseboards than about his residents. While the place looks nice, the quality of care is piss poor and the overall work ethic amongst the staff is incredibly toxic. DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE!!!
Staff is very friendly and goes out of their way for the residents, especially with the COVID restrictions. My mother has been happy here.
I find it INCREDIBLY interesting that my review from 2 years ago is magically missing here! No WONDER why this place magically has a 3.5 star rating! The company clearly paid to get low ratings taken off. This company is horrible. They pay their caregivers very little and only care about the looks of the facility. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE SHINY FACILITY. Turnover is worse here than any other facility I’ve ever placed my loved one in. They will nickel and dime you and your loved ones care will be what suffers, not their pocketbook.I feel very badly for their marketing director, Judy who has a heart of gold and genuinely cares about the families and residents she moves in. She works so hard but unfortunately she isn’t in charge of who moves out and what causes them to move out. THE COMPANY IS! After going through countless executive directors, you would think they would look inward and see the error of their ways.
Visually a lovely place, but look deeper. Since the beginning, missed medications and did not follow medication orders (crushed vs. whole), disregard for dietary or hospice orders, and increased falls. The high turnover rate for direct patient care and medication management staff left loved ones in peril. Hospice staff are challenged to communicate with clinical staff, stay informed, and feel confident their orders were being complied with. Administrative changes and management are not responsive and dismissive, including corporate. Frequently told issues resolved only to have them occur again and again. Corporate didn't bill correctly, and facility administration sent bills and communications after a loved one's death.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
