List of Dante Burgos's Reviews
Diagnosed me with 4 different illnesses without speaking to me or even meeting me. Prescribed medication without even giving me the chance to have a conversation with me.
Dr. Burgos was unprofessional in the way he spoke to my mother who was the patient and to me as well. He told my mother she was left to die. That is not how you talk to a patient who suffers from depression. When confronted he was very rude and told me not to questions what he does.
Dr. Burgos was my psychiatrist from 2000 to when he left the Holiner Group in Mckenny, TX. At the time, he was studying Bipolar Disorder in adolescents and teenagers in order to create a Junior Bipolar diagnosis. I was "diagnosed" with this by him in 2000, when I was 9, and given Lithium-based medication despite his knowing that I was severely traumatized, and despite the medication having not been studied in minors. That medication made me emotionally numb for 15 years, caused me to struggle with my weight to this day, and prevented me from learning about my true issues until years later. Please be aware of this and GET A SECOND OPINION.
Staff has no communication with Dr. Burgos, and their communication to get back to the patient is even worse.
I have worked with Dr. Burgos on two occasions, once at a psych hospital in Dallas, and once in a for-profit "drug treatment center" in Van Alstyne. Dr. Burgos was the sort of psychiatrist who not only makes eye contact but would sit down with patients and talk to them like people, not patients. He is a human being. I only have one criticism--neither he nor his practice is taking Medicare. How do you do adult/geri if you aren't taking Medicare. Maybe that's not his focus. But if you can afford him or have better insurance, I can recommend him without reservation or concern. (I just tried to make an appointment for a close family member. That should tell you how much I respect and like him.) Rush patients in and out so quick there should be a turnstile on the front door. Only saw Dr. Burgos once as my child's condition worsened. P.A.s didn't help and sure did not listen. It seems like the $ is all that is important. Thank God we found a doctor who actually sees us and listens! Carmen in the accounting office is rude and a terrible person to deal with.
I love him. I think he is great. He cares. I can't believe that there is such a caring person out there that does not care about the money but about the patient. He is amazing. Worth waiting in the rain for if I had to. He really is a good doctor.
My pediatrician recommended Dr. Burgos. He did what we wanted him to do, diagnose and treat anxiety disorder in my child. Yes she is on medication, however, they recommended a psychologist as well for therapy. They work with my child's counselor to meet my child's needs. My child is on the right track thanks to this one/two duo. I'm very grateful to them for diagnosing a problem that a previous psychologist insisted was "strong will and blatant disobedience". Sometimes medication IS the right course.
My son has been going to Dr. Burgos since 2005. We see is NP Madoka about every 6 weeks and Burgos about every 4 months. I truly love their office and have followed them to McKinney. madoka is very good and talking with my son to figure out if he needs a med change or an attitude/perception adjustment. At 16, this is a hard thing to do. She is fabulous. Dr. Burgos always recognizes my son and asks him how he's doing if we run in to me. The only issue I have ever had was with Emily in billing. I now refuse to deal with her. She is extremely rude. You always pay first before seeing the doctor. Suddenly I had a $20 past due amount that was a year old. She didn't return my, or her offices, calls for 3 days and then cancelled my appointment because I hadn't paid the balance. When I rescheduled my appointment I gave them quite an earful. Next appointment I was told that it had been taken care of and they were very apologetic. My son and I love this doctor and his nurse practioners!
Good service, prompt. The normal pattern is to see the Doc first, then a Nurse/Practitioner for a few visits, then the Doc again, then repeat. Dr. Burgos is excellent and the NP with whom I've worked is great as well. They are quick, but they listen.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
