I was a patient of Dr. Cortez until I was informed she was no longer with my healthcare plan. I was very disappointed. She was kind, treating my symptoms as well as the stress in my life. She always listened to me patiently and compassionately. I was really hurt because I was doing so much better under her care. I don't like the practice of removing doctors without considering the disruption it causes in the patient's care.

I have been a patient of Dr Cortez for many years, and through three locations of SAMG. I have never had anything but great care from her. She has always been thorough with me, and I feel like she actually cares about my health. Yes, sometimes it takes a while to be seen, but I don't think that's uncommon for physician's offices. The last time I waited longer than usual it was because a doctor was unexpectedly out, and Dr. Cortez agreed to see all her patients plus the other doctor's rather than turn them away. That's her character. She's very easy going, and I like her very much.

If you can help it avoid this practice. My appointment was at 9 and I wasn't seen til 10. I waited an hour and when I asked if they were busy they just shrugged. What's the point of having an appointment for a certain hour if you won't be seen until an hour later? Will not return.
