Expensive to come here. Parking and Facility Fee will cost more than your visit.
Extremely disappointed with the billing practices at the GI clinic at Memorial Hermann. While the medical staff and front desk team were professional and courteous, the billing department completely ruined the experience. I paid my copay at the time of service, thinking that covered my visit. Later, I received an additional $194 “facility fee.” This was never clearly explained beforehand. Charging a facility fee for a standard clinic visit after collecting a copay is excessive and feels deceptive. I have called the billing department multiple times requesting a detailed breakdown and explanation of these specific charges, especially the facility fee. So far, I have received nothing. No clarification. No transparency. No follow-up. Just silence. This kind of confusing and aggressive billing practice is unacceptable. Patients deserve clear disclosure of all fees upfront not surprise charges weeks later. Be aware: even if you pay your copay, you may still get hit with an additional facility fee. The billing department seriously needs accountability and transparency.
I was instructed by the staff at Ertan Digestive that I had to go into the practice to meet a new physician after Dr. Ertan retired. I took sick leave and left work early in order to get there. I spoke to the residents longer than Dr. Andrew DuPont and the staff actually had to bring me back into the waiting room because there were no rooms available. I am under no medication, and do not require a colonoscopy for another 3 years. I stated repeatedly that I was there because I was instructed to do so in order for a doctor to take over my care after Ertan's retirement. DuPont barely spent 5 minutes with me and I had to reiterate everything I told the residents, not once but twice. His staff even called me the next day to schedule a colonoscopy after I repeatedly told them the day before that I didn't need one for another 3 years. The balance after came to $358. I disputed it but the staff pushed back. I am pulling my entire family out of the MH system. DuPont tarnished the Ertan reputation. I submitted reviews to Healthgrades, completed feedback with MH (because they use the same response for everyone to do so), and submitted a complaint to BCBSTX.
Ignores patients in need of important refills. Ignores voicemails, emails, faxed requests from the pharmacy, etc. Very VERY poor care management team. High risk patients, beware. Seek care elsewhere! This has been an ongoing problem for years so it's the norm there.
Went to three different gastroenterologist. Told me they could not find anything wrong. Went to Dr Ertan. He diagnosed the problem. And ithas changed my life.
They charged a $150 Facility Fee in addition to the Co-pay and Parking. I was there for a 30 min general consultation in a regular exam room! Yes, it definitely is asinine and unfortunate (as others have said in their review). Overall the care I received was not different that any other GI - except the outrageous money grab. This is Houston Texas - there are literally thousands of other providers to choose from. Never going back. Update: Do you see their response for me to email them to discuss? They NEVER responded, so what does that tell you?? Go somewhere else.... HB 2075 is coming for YOU. Contact Texas Rep. Waited over two hours with my wife in the waiting room. No one even bothers to come out and tell you anything. I understand things happen but the complete lack of communication is unacceptable.
Excellent customer service. Very caring and professional staff. Dr. DuPont is amazing!
Impossible to get someone to pick up the phone. They asked for labs. I sent them and didn't hear anything for weeks. I called back. They claimed they never received them. Resent. Then they asked for records, physician's visit comments, and a physician's note. Why didn't they say that at the beginning? Why would I use the same system that didn't work the first time? Difficult to work with and they refused to schedule an appointment. No, thank you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
