Thanks God, we have this special kind of human being with a grace to take care people improving the healthcare. Dr Flores-Sandoval don’t change, I pray for you
I went to Methodist urology associated because of the Methodist reputation for good healthcare. However I was disappointed when needing a urologist they gave me Dr. Felipe Sandoval. There were so many mishaps in scheduling that are too extensive to write here. What was most upsetting is that the doctor does not explain anything. He is always in a hurry, and just orders procedures. (To rack up your insurance bill). I have BPH, a kidney stone, a hiatal hernia and erectile dysfunction. So when asked how can I treat all these - for the hernia he tells me that he doesn't do that - go to a gastro doc. Ok I said, what about the kidney stone? He stated that we need to take care of that but never scheduled anything. Then for the BPH I asked what can I do? He prescribed Flomax, (little to no help) then Finestride. It made me dizzy, weak, fatigued and feeling horrible. He also prescribed Cialis for the ED. So I go on the internet to learn about the my condition and my prescribed medications. I learn a few disturbing things. First is that Finestride does have negative side effects of dizziness and weakness but also diminishes your sex drive. And meanwhile Cialis is designed to give you a sustainable erection. Now I became angry. I can now understand why docs like this are called pill pushers and why the pharmaceutical industry runs treatment options. Never was I told to lose some weight as it may help. Cut your red meat intake ( I learned that eating red meat increases your prostate size three times as much), cut caffeine and alcohol use. And that there are some natural remedies that can help like drinking nettle tea, saw palmetto pills and a morning shot of organic natural apple cider with a little water to help with the kidney stone. None of these options were presented to me. In a following appoitment when I did ask about some natural remedies, he scoffed saying "none of that works"! I felt that he only addressed my organs and never the whole person as a patient. Aside from all this, the nurse Candy seemed always hurried and not informed. They had me bring in urine collected over the previous 24 hours. I brought it in and they placed it on a shelf. She asked about it three times and I had to go and tell her where it was. No or poor internal communication among staff. When they ordered a CAT scan, they scheduled me to go to Methodist for this scan. I receive a call from Cigna to tell me that Methodist charges $1800 for the scan while other providers $400 and $265. Since I have a deductible I chose another provider - One Day Diagnostic. Once they found out, they threw a hissy fit telling me that One Step was awful, they make mistakes and are unreliable. I found this unprofessional to trash another provider. Then they would not let it go. At a follow up visit they brought it again that they did not receive the CD. So I go to One Step, demand the CD. Carry to Methodist and hand deliver it. I later find out from One Step that Dr. Sandoval's orders never requested the CD but only the report which is what they did! The appearance is that Methodist Urology is not interest in the patient, but in collecting for diagnostics and pill pushing! No wonder people are frustrated with the delivery of care in this country. It is not patient centered - its money centered. Then on top if it all, they treat you like they are doing a favor by seeing you. Wake up Methodist! I am the customer. I am deeply grieved and disappointed at such poor delivery of care at levels in engaging with Houston Methodist Urlology Associates.
Excellent doctor. Extremely thorough. Very compassionate and determined to find ways to improve quality of life and find solutions. Great office staff and nurses and assistant. Highly recommend. Doesn’t use mesh. Will use fascia to perform slings. Excellent care.
Best urolgist for female incontinence problems
I strongly recommed dr Flores as an outstanding professional! He did radical prostatectomy six weeks ago! And I am ready to continue my normal activities! Including surfing! No incontinency and see improvement in my sex life! He is the best! He has Dr Villareal working with him Another gem! Gracias
Very pleased how Dr. Flores cares for patients. Easy to understand when explains what you have: plain English or Spanish. Very friendly and very knowledgeable. I went to his practice because another doctor wanted to remove my kidney, but Dr. Flores was able to save it with 2 surgeries (my kidney is only working at 25% but i still have it!)Only complaint:staff. Most of the time don't answer messages, phone calls, canceling surgeries last minute, not ordering all test at same time...Don't ruin it!
Dr. Flores and his staff are the best!! His nurses Mel and Lorena went above and beyond to try and help get my husband in for an appointment when he was in pain! My husband ended up having to have surgery performed by Dr. Flores. Dr. Flores took care of my husband's issue, and he is now pain free! Thank you so much Dr. Flores and staff!!!! There are not many doctors offices' that truly care for their patients as you all do.
been treated by him for more than 10 years. I traveled to Boston and Miami, and I'm very happy with his care. All his staff is very kind and helpful, and his expertice, knoledge, bedside manner, is the best you can get!! Highly recommended!!!
My first urologist stopped my bladder cancer surgery in the process of removing a tumor because of cardiac concerns. I was referred to Dr. Flores and told he was among the best urologists. He very promptly saw me in his office and set up another surgery that was successful in removing the remaining tumor and started BCG treatments. After approximately 18 months I am cancer free and couldn't be more happy with Dr Flores and his kind, proficient staff. A very warm and caring atmosphere in his office. I highly recommend this Doctor.
En una situación critica , el Dr. flores te da la atención completa tanto como profesional adi como ser humano. Gran Dr. Gran persona!
