List of James R. Wright Iii's Reviews
Front office is very difficult to do business with and frankly they don’t care about you. Customer service is horrible.
His office is a scam. Emphasis on office- not the doctor. I'm still fighting a charge for a "missed appointment" that never occurred. I've never even received a bill from this office but they somehow put a fee on my credit. I've disputed this month after month. The only option I see is to sue in small claims. I see this is a "regular reoccurring" issue with many others as well. Wouldn't surprise me at all if a class action lawsuit results from their scam. Do not go to this doctor unless you're ok with being charged erroneous fees.
I have been a patient of Dr. James Wright's for many years. Not only is he one of the most knowledgeable and thorough doctors that I have ever met, but he truly cares for his patients and their struggles. He works with you and finds what works for you, so that you may have a better life. His staff is phenomenal! Geneva, the office manager, and Sarai and Alex in the front office are far superior to most office staffs that I have ever interacted with.
THEY ARE A 2.8 REVIEW FOR A REASON!!!!! This is hand down the worst doctors office I have ever seen. Please look at how many late charges and absolute nonsense they have in their reviews. I had one initial consult here and it all went downhill from there. I waited past my appointment time for my initial consult. Then when I realized I was running late for my second appointment I called them 5 minutes bore my scheduled time. They told me it was fine they had a 5 minute grace period. I arrived 4 minutes after my scheduled time and had to wait in line while a subpar front desk employee checked others in. By the time I reached the desk it was 8 minutes past my appointment. I was informed I wasn't going to have my appointment today and that I would still be charged. I pleaded my case and was shot down quickly by a rude emotionless admin assistant at the front desk with the customer service skills of a avocado. I refused to pay their BS charge and have since been sent to a collection agency. It is such a trivial anoint of money (less than $200). I contacted the office today to confirm it was Dr. wrights office collecting. It was and I'd rather that sit on my credit report than pay them an F-nig dime. If I ever do pay them it will be with a bag of nickels dumped on to their lobby floor.
Response to the reply to my original review: I would ask you what service? I attended a single appointment, missed the next despite notifying your office ahead of time. Was charged $95.00 because your office personnel did not read my email soon enough. Then called back to pay it and the person on the other line actually made another appointment without my knowledge, and during the covid pandemic. Not you have charged me another 95.00 and sent to collections. How can you apologize for poor service while continuing to offer further poor service? Can I also invoice you for making me wait over 20 minutes past my appointment time while I had my child with me? Because that was exactly how my first appointment went.Original Review: There is a great reason for so many poor reviews here. After attending a single session I missed my next appointment and was charged $95.00 despite emailing them the day before, because "they didn't read my email in time." When I called to pay this the lady on the phone apparently scheduled a second follow up appointment. I didn't attend this either due to both not knowing about the appointment and the fact it was during the early stages of the covid pandemic last year! So I didn't want a second appointment to begin with. Come to find out they sold the debt to a collections agency over a "missed appointment" I never agreed to. Never go here, there are so many better options minus the predatory practice performed here. Also, when arriving early for my one appointment I still waited over 20 minutes past my appointment time, funny how I couldn't charge them for the fact they missed my appointment.
I've been going to Dr. Wright for a few years, but the front desk staff is extremely rude and I have had appointments where I have shown up early, waited close to 30mins just to be seen but they'll threaten you with canceling your appointment if you're more than 4 mins late. I was scheduled for a phone appointment (without my knowledge) during COVID a few months ago and I called to schedule an appointment so that I can get a refill on my medication and I have a $95 missed appointment fee before I can even get another phone appointment.I just asked for my own medical records (which costs $25) so that I can go to a different psychiatrist whose office is more understanding of his patients. I'm absolutely upset with this facility and I urge anybody looking into a psychiatrist to look elsewhere. Please read the other reviews as well because this isn't the first time this has happened to other patients. I learned that if the front office staff is terrible, then you should give up on the entire practice.Terrible practice I cannot stress this enough!!!
They charged me for a missed virtual appointment. I didn't receive a phone number to call nor was I contacted. I pulled up my phone records via Google Voice and it shows they called to confirm 2 days prior to my appointment. There's NO call from them on the day of.Highly unprofessional. Here I am dealing with the death of 2 parents while being FORCED to pay for their error. Don't expect empathy or compassion from this place. Maybe suicide would be better than help.
Was asked to wait for 45 mins while Nurse practioner saw a different patient that came in with no appointment. Next week was running late and called ahead. Arrived one minute over their 5 min no show policy and was the last patient of the day. Was charged no show fee and asked to reschedule.
WOW! I had seen Dr. Wright for many many years and never had any issues. Received a bill in the mail in 2020 from a "missed appointment" in 2017. Obviously there is an issue in their billing system if they aren't catching missed bills until 4 years later. This office does not follow timely billing laws at all. Previous staff was so kind and accommodating. New manager more treats you like a bother. This is the response I'm expecting:We are sorry that you were not satisfied with the experience you received in our office. This has been our office policy for several years and we do indicate that delinquent accounts are reported to a collection agency. This might be your office policy for several years, but it should not take several years for you to find your mistakes.Responding to: Response from the owner12 minutes agoWe are sorry that you were not satisfied with the experience you received in our office. Please contact our office manager and we will take care of this matter. Thank you.I have contacted the office manager and was told... sorry you have to pay it or we will send you to collections. Why would I contact the office manager again?
I terminated him after no results and after being hooked up to his machine almost three years ago. Last year he sent me a bill for canceling my last appointment...which I did in advance. I actually returned all the samples he gave me when I cancelled. Pretty petty to send people bills for doing nothing. Find someone that doesn't work like hearding patients and gets results.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
