He seems to be a fairly competent doctor and his staff was wonderful and efficient. I gave him one star because political opinions do not belong in a medical appointment. If you think for yourself, don't go to him. He backed off quick and started saying, "We don't need to bring politics into it" when I started standing up to his overreach. Keep it medical.
Dr Cheng cured my atrial fibrillation with a pulmonary vein treatment. Prior to seeing Dr. Cheng, I underwent atrial ablation and shock treatments with no success. Highly recommend Dr. Cheng. I have been free of A-fib for over 10 years.
I am a former patient of Dr. Cheng. His office is run in an efficient manner, and wait time for appointments was very short. Dr. Cheng is extremely responsive to my concerns and in fact anticipated many of my questions before I asked. You would be hard pressed to find a finer doctor.Highly recommended.
I've been treated by Dr Cheng for over 10 years now and I feel very fortunate to have him as my doctor. He's taken care of both atrial flutter and atrial fibrillation for me. We tried meds when I was first had issues. He was doubtful that would help but said the meds work with a small percentage of patients. When that had little effect I had a cardioversion. This worked perfectly for several years before new symptoms popped up. A heart ablation took care of that and I have been fine ever since. He warned me that another ablation may be needed some day, but so far so good. He's a world-renowned expert in the field of arrhythmia and teaches at Baylor College of Medicine. He also leads a research team at the Texas Heart Institute. I highly recommend Dr. Cheng.
Cheng and his staff are incompetent fools. I am now barred from any further treatments because I dared to tell him I was reporting him to authorities. One of his expert brilliant associates runs a clinic at Ben Taub but he has forbidden her from working on me outside of Ben Taub. These fools did not bother to tell me or the hospital that my surgery to replace a defibrillator had beeen cancelled by them because of an insurance technicality. I was actually in the hospital with an IV in my arm when I just happened to call their office to find out when the doc would arrive. Thats when I was informed it had been cancelled. "Didn't anyone tell you?" She said. No apology from anyone. The reschedule date was the worst in my life because my wife had a stroke and was not found for at least 5 hrs from onset, because I was in hospital. May these nasty people rot in hell. Dr Mathuria and Dr Rojas Delgado are the best and really care. Stay away from Cheng. There is something not quite right about his empathy level.
Outstanding physician and staff who corrected my A-Fib and probably restored years of my life.
Only in the business for the gold. His staff are the rude and incompetent. They failed to tell me or the hospiatl where op was booked that they had cancelled. I was in a bed all prepped for op when I called their offices to find out when exactly the doc would arrive. It was then they told me the op had been cancelled. I was angry. The worst thing is that on the day they finally did the operation my significant other had a massive stroke. If not for the first op failure I would have not needed th
Dr Cheng has my utmost respect. I had a successful catheter ablation done this morning at sugar land Methodist. The entire team of nurses and doctors were very professional and thorough. Any questions/concerns that I or my family had was addressed. I have read negative reviews before that I have a hard time believing. I would highly recommend Dr. Cheng.
Performed an ablation on me and didn’t feel right afterwards. Unlike my first ablation, I remained in the hospital for two days. I was never instructed to schedule a follow up, but did on my own. Was told by him I was doing well, but again, no follow up was ordered. Went to my regular cardiologist who was very concerned and informed me I now had first degree heart block, and further test revealed a moderate leaking aortic valve. I would not recommend this doctor.
This doctor is not frendly at all . His appoint time is very pushing and streesful ...and he is no patience (feels very rude...) to lisenning patients concers and never explain clear the procedures well and never call back ...There have many good doctors in town please find better doctor for yourself!
After several unsuccessful treatments for A-Fib and years of taking blood thinners, I was referred to Dr. Cheng. He performed a pulmonary vein ablation and follow-up procedure. No more A-Fib or blood thinners. He is the best!
Dr Cheng never responded to any of our desperate calls and I lost my husband 48 hours after the surgery Dr. Cheng insisted was necessary. He still has not called. He should not be a doctor. There are many other choices of doctors who care about their patients. Please do yourself and your loved ones a favor and choose someone else to put your trust in.
I was a patient with an Internal Cardiac Defibrillator. He was prompt with his office appointments and would take time to answer all of my questions. Staff was likewise punctual and courteous. Highly recommended! Someone downgraded Dr. Cheng because "his patients seem to wind up in ICU". This would seem to be more the result of the patient's medical condition rather than the skill of the doctor.
Before the cardiac ablation, I never received an explanation of what the physician was going to do and what to expect after the ablation. After the 6-8 hour cardiac ablation and never received a post procedure discussion with the physician while I was in Houston. I felt fine, but I did not know if the procedure was successful, what actions I needed to take post ablation, etc.
Dr. Cheng may not be the kind of doctor that holds your hand, but he answers your questions and knows his stuff! He absolutely saved my life.
He may be a good doctor as far as doing procedures but his bedside manner is terrible. He does not explain procedure or what he did to you or anything. You have to find out from nurses what they did.
Dr. Cheng has given me my life back. I'd had two previous ablations for afib by a well known doctor before I went to Dr. Cheng for a second opinion. Dr. Cheng performed my third ablation and have been free of afib since the day of my procedure. Not one hiccup. Over six months ago. Dr. Cheng is the man when it comes to electrophysiology.
saved my life. if atrial fibrillation is the prob, see him.
dr cheng is the best of the best. He is very caring and had a great bedside manner. HE WAS VERY PATIENT WITH ME.
HE told me that he could take my arrhythmia away with ablation. that he said was NOT LIFE THREATENING and THAT THE LIFEVEST DEFIBRILLATOR THAT I HAD TO WHERE WAS NOT NEEDED also told me he would give me THIS IN WRITING ...but when i got my medical records nothing in there about what we talk about...plus the facts of my case were all inaccurate. NOW I WILL HAVE A HARD TIME TRUSTING ANY DOCTORS FOR MY HEATH..so in my opinion i was lied to so he could do the procedure
