I have known Dr. Adriane for over 15 years now, and I must say she is an amazing psychologist. I would recommend her with my eyes closed.

5 stars for Dr Franklin but 3 because I can never get anyone to answer the phone.

Anna De Filippi was my colleague at The MendCenter. Her dedication and professionalism to work with patients was always impressive. Her care and support to patients by understanding them in Lacanian psychoanalysis orientation, her gentle yet insightful approach, and her extensive knowledge in arts and applying it to creative sessions were all invaluable. I highly recommend Anna for your psychoanalysis and psychotherapy.

I have been a colleague of Anna DiFilippi’s for many years and have witnessed her passion for theory as well as the dedication she demonstrates towards her patients. Anyone in her care would be in great hands.

They billed me $200 after telling me I was covered. Had to call my insurance company to sort it out since it said it had been paid to them. Real Talk told me the insurance “just wouldn’t pay” and made me have to do their job of getting their money for them. This is so disrespectful and distressing to someone who is chronically ill/dying on disability. It added to my stress. The therapist also had the emotional range of a Easter Island statue when I told him I needed help dealing with the fact I’m dying from a nuerodegenerative disease. Screw off Real Talk. You may try to rob me but I’m not dead yet I won’t let you. *Edit* the insurance paid for it was covered by and paid for but they still charged me. Taking my money after insurance says they paid is a robbery. But likely it’s just incompetence. Do not blame it on convention. Your a healthcare service. Learn how to bill insurance properly.

I am writing in support of my colleague Tasneem Shaik, a doctoral candidate in Clinical Psychology and intern at Real Talk, supervised by Dr. Adriane Barroso. I am a staff clinician at the MendCenter and former hotline volunteer at the Houston Area Women's Center. In my experience, I have consistently noted Tasneem's professionalism, empathic capacity, and unique ability to get to the heart of the matter at hand. She strives tirelessly to meet each client where they are at, case by case, with no one-size-fits-all approach. I have observed Tasneem exercise both efficiency and patience when faced with difficult challenges. In both her research and clinical work, Tasneem pays special attention to matters of social justice, multiculturalism, and gender equality. I cannot recommend her enough to future clients as they begin their therapeutic journeys.

I told the intern I was trauma bonding with another individual; she sent me marriage counseling questions, so I could get to know my abuser better. A few other things like quality & professionalism are questionable. I would not recommend, nor wish the treatment I received on my worst enemy. ***Adriane, this was during a session. I appreciate the way you go to back for your associates. You may find what I mentioned in the email threads of said intern. Based on your response, I can understand the lack of discretion. No, thank you.

Dr. Adriane is a very dedicated and experienced professional. I highly recommend her practice.

I was saddened by something that happened today. I engaged a therapist to help with my marriage problems. I told her my wife also needed counseling if she knew of someone that could help. She said I can counsel you each independently but I cannot counsel you together as a couple. We finished our session and scheduled the next session. Then my wife scheduled a session with the therapist for the following week. After engaging with my wife on her session, she also scheduled a follow up session with the same therapist. At this point I got a call from the office that there was a conflict of interest and that she could no longer work with me because she was now working with my wife. I made the comment that’s not what was supposed to happen we need to clean this up. They then turned around and canceled the appointment via email with my wife and told her they would not be able to work with her. So at this point we’re both very upset. My wife canceled her appointment and I canceled my appointment and never once did we get a call from the therapist.. I don’t understand why the therapist did not make an effort to call and clean up the misunderstanding on the phone rather than just leaving two lost people more lost than when we went to look for help and with less money. I hope this doesn’t happen to you!

I feel incredibly grateful to have Dr. Janelle Veenstra as a valued colleague. I believe she has an amazing ability to make anyone feel comfortable and heard. She’s warm, patient, thoughtful, and compassionate. In my time working with Dr. Janelle Veenstra, I have witnessed her as an advocate for her clients as well as her community. She is collaborative and flexible in working with clients toward their goals. She has my highest recommendation!
