List of Tabassum Taqi's Reviews
I was a patient at Village Medical Huffmeister location. I would like to start this review with a little bit about myself. I am a 22 year old black woman with a lip piercing and tattoos on my arms and hands. I attended my appointment in a T-Shirt and black leggings. I was greeted very kindly by two women, asked to fill out paperwork and wait for my name. I did all of the above everything was exceptional. I was then called to the back to see the physician. I answered the nurses assessment questions, explained my symptoms, took a weight and blood pressure. Everything normal. However, when the Physician Dr. Tabassum Taqi entered my patient room my experience completely pulled the rug from beneath me. I was greeted with a smile, asked how i was. I replied “great and how are you?” immediately she repeated the question “how are you?” i was a bit confused but i replied again “great!”. She followed by asking me what was the reason for my visit i stated what i made my appointment for. She started reading my chart to me naming off previous medications i’ve been prescribed. She asked me why i was prescribed Topiramate. I told her i used it for anxiety during my pregnancy. From that point forward my whole entire appointment was about my mental health history. Which is NOT the reason i made my appointment besides the FACT that is NOT her specialty as a physician. She talked over me, she ignored me, she undermined me the entire time because i have a mental health diagnosis. I repeatedly told her i have times where i am passing out, having nose bleeds, my heart feels like it’s being strangled in my chest and her follow up question was “when was the last time you’ve seen a psychiatrist?”. I felt so embarrassed and unheard. I felt ashamed, i felt judged, i felt like a criminal like as insane as that is to say for a review for a DOCTORS OFFICE. I’ve never felt so small. Dr.Tabassum Taqi then suggested “i guess i can do some blood tests and see if there’s anything wrong with your liver or anything else but i also want a drug test are you okay with that?” I asked her “why do we need a drug test? what does that have to do with why i’m here?” she replied “i just want to rule anything out” i asked “did you ask any other patient of yours for this? is this a common practice for nose bleeds and passing out?” she said “i only ask if that’s my conclusion”. Dr. Tabassum Taqi accused me of using illegal substances because i have a history of mental health and my outward appearance. I have never been confronted with a healthcare worker so unethical. I asked to speak to any form of management before i left as well as all names to file a formal complaint not just google. The nurse manager spoke with me and told me “i would never assume you’re using illegal substances i don’t get that from your chart or appearance i’m not sure why she asked that” HUH! Not to hard to figure out why! I worked at Ben Taub Level 1 Trauma Center ER for 4 years. I have worked with plenty of physicians and resident physicians and have never been so horrified at the level of disrespect and disregard for patient advocacy. I am SOOOOOO SOOOOO sad that people in AMERICA 2023 are still thinking this small minded and bigoted. If you are of a demographic (Person Of Color, A person with tattoos or piercings, someone that has a psychiatric background) i would NOT attend this facility. You will be treated like you’re from the Texas State Hospital For The Criminally Insane. You will not be treated like a responsible, coherent, ablebodied adult. I have never wrote a review before. I had to let this be known. I couldn’t sleep knowing someone could leave crying the way i did. God Bless.
Dr. Tabassum Taqi is a horrible physician for anyone under the age of 60. She’s extremely bigoted and closed minded. She referred to me as a possible “drug addict” because i have a history of mental health. PLEASE be careful i’ve never felt so unheard and small in my life. Go to anyone else !!!
I saw Dr. Taqi for the 1st time on 01/05/21. I was very happy about her bedside manners, friendly, took her time, listened, looked at you while talking to you, answered any questions honestly, all in all a great experience. Opportunity: I had an issue that I wanted to ask Dr. Taqi about and left a detailed msg. with receptionist on 01/08/21, left an email msg on 01/09/21, and now again today. My issue needed attention as it was important to me. I have yet to hear a response. In all fairness, I am not very techy, so I may not know how to retrieve the msgs from the portal, but I had also asked her to call me to ask her the important questions without an answer. A little disappointing in that area, but she is very good when you're in her office for a visit.
Very happy with Dr. Taqi and sad to see her leave Willowbrook Methodist. She listens is respectful and knows her field.
Wonderful doctor. We had her complete attention to our concerns. Super personality. Did not talk down to us.
Dr. Taqi is fantastic. She is easy to talk to and listens to your concerns. She doesn't make you feel rushed or as if she doesn't care. Great bedside manner and I feel lucky to have found her!
It’s always one story or the other at this practice. They actually have no respect for health. I called in to schedule and appointment to see the doctor, they told me they will call me back when they have an opening. They called me at 8 am to tell me the doctor has a slot and to make an appointment, I called to make the appointment, and showed up are he hospital 20 minutes early, and they told me the scheduler scheduled it wrong and the doctor suggests I go to the ER. No accountability or ownership of patients health. That is not what you expect rive a primary care physician. If you want a physician who takes your personal care seriously, this place is probably not for you.
Dr. Taqi was amazing! She asked insightful questions and explained everything to me perfectly. I will definitely see her again.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
