Today's Vision River Oaks's Online Review Report Card

I had an appointment on Sept 29, 2025. I ended up purchasing two glasses, glasses and sunglasses. The place is nice and inviting inside. The optometrist was great; I enjoyed chatting with her, and she seemed thorough in the exam. A week after receiving my glasses, I started experiencing neck pain. I noticed I was forcing my neck in awkward and painful positions to see out of my new glasses, mostly during driving and watching tv. But then something else happened. I noticed one of the lenses was loose so I got out my old glasses to inspect (I can't see small screws without glasses). The screw was loose so I tightened it. Then a few days later, the screw was loose again. And then the next week, and so forth. So now i'm stuck with a pair of glasses that require weekly screw tightening. i'm pretty sure they gave me the glasses from the display case as I see no other reason that a brand new pair of glasses would already require weekly screw tightening. I will not return to Today's Vision. I should have stuck to my OG eye doctor, but Today's Vision is convenient to my home. Side note: the sunglasses work well Editor's note: the gucci glasses didn't even fit in the case they provided which should have been the first red flag

All staff were professional, helpful, and easy to talk to. I highly recommend Today's Vision.

The hustle game is strong here. They tried to upsell everything. From the retina picture service, which we took but never got any call back on the result, to eyelid wash solution and warming mask.

I had to come in for an office visit rather than an eye exam. Rita, the front desk staff, was extremely helpful on a Saturday, and very prompt at responding to communication. Dr Jenkins on the visit was very invested in my concern, and was very creative in figuring out a way to fix things and prevent the issue from happening again. Plus, she was very pleasant and quite funny. Overall was an awesome experience, and I would have no hesitation recommending houston’s first lash-barber.

I love coming here. They have gorgeous eyewear! Their glasses make you look like a millionaire.

Dr. Jenkins is awesome. Great personality and really listens to what you are trying to achieve at your visit. Takes her time , and the visit is not rushed. I would definitely recommend seeing her. Staff is helpful as well.

I’ve never left a negative review before, but I had a disappointing experience at Today’s Vision River Oaks. I called to confirm that they accepted my insurance. I explained my situation and provided my insurance information, and was told it would be accepted. However, after my checkup, the doctor told me that my visit was considered a medical visit and that they were not in network for my specific insurance plan. And I had to pay the full amount out of pocket. When I mentioned that I had called to confirm, the doctor asked who I spoke with and went to talk to a staff who seemed to be in training. The interaction was uncomfortable to witness, and I felt bad for the staff. Additionally, the doctor also made a comment saying that I “made her Monday interesting,” which I felt was unprofessional given the situation. She was not wearing scrubs and examined my eyes without gloves while wearing lots of accessories. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience, and I don’t plan to return.

I had an excellent experience at Today’s Vision River Oaks! Dr. Jenkins was incredibly professional and patient, taking the time to answer all my questions and she explained everything clearly. I never felt rushed, and it really made me feel confident about my care. The entire staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. A special shout-out to Rita, who went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well taken care of throughout my visit, her kindness and attention to detail truly stood out. Highly recommend this practice!

The boss lady was yelling like a mad person at an associate while I was in the store. It was very unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable. Will not go back.
