I’m writing this review for my husband who had a hip replacement (left side) last year in 2020. My hubby is young, only 36yrs old and has terrible bone on bone pain. Not even 2 weeks after getting his replacement he said it was the best decision he’s ever made! No more pain, he sleeps well, it’s just a blessing to have found this doctor!The pain has subsided so much on the left after receiving his replacement that he now feels the Excruciating pain again on his RIGHT side. It’s very paint at night whenever he is trying to rest! We were aware he would need both hips done but Dr.Matthew’s said the left was far worse than the right. Looks like we’ll be going in for another replacement sooner than he expected. I’m very confident that Dr.Matthews will do another fantastic job! I highly recommend this surgeon!!

If a knee replacement can be considered a "positive experience", Dr. Matthews, & how staff made it the best possible. Dr. Matthews was a superb surgeon, & made me feel at ease, being present, for important questions & concerns. Sarah was wonderful, & the "Bone Butler" / liaison, was a great person to turn to for questions, day or night! The knee works great, & all follow up, medical professionals are very complimentary of his work. I would definitely recommend him highly BETH KNOLLE

So very nice to meet you Dr Mathews. So organized, appointment made, all preop done while I was there. No need to do anything else except the dreaded covid swab just before surgery day. Put my mind at ease. Such nice staff too.

Could not be happier. This place runs like a well oiled machine. No wasted time with this Drs office.

Dr. Mathews replaced my left hip in May 2015 and my right hip in June 2015 I was back at work in four weeks after the surgery and still to this day am extremely pleased with him and his staff. His professionalism and no nonsense approach is extremely refreshing. I am going to him this month to get on his schedule to have him replace my left knee since his previous work has been so wonderful will post more later on the future procedure. Update Left knee replacement was an astounding success which I expected no less.

I have spent the last 2 years in so much pain and extremely limited activity. For someone that once found much joy in weekly hikes, camping fly fishing and gardening. Dr. Mathews finally gave me the answer I needed and the hope for returning to my old life. I had my first hip replacement a week ago. The previous pain is completely gone, I only have surgery pain. The positive outlook I now have on my future, to be able to live the life I want to live has given me so much hope and happiness. Mathews office staff was so kind and helpful. Texas Orthopedic Hospital is amazing and informative. I look forward to my 2nd hip replacement and then off to an active life I've missed for 2 years. I want to thank Dr. Mathews and his nurse Sara. Just excellent care! Update:. 2nd hip replacement done. A little harder recovery, but I feel amazing and the pain if the past is 100% gone. If you suffer from pain I highly recommend you go to Dr. Mathews for pain relief! Thank you again.

Dr. Mathews performed a hip replacement on me. I was walking without a walker after 5 days and without any pain. It is the first time in over a year that my hip has been pain free. I highly recommend him for anyone considering knee or hip replacement.

Dr Mathews was patient in answering all my questions & explaining the steps of my hip replacement. He’s not a chatty guy but is an excellent surgeon!

Dr Mathews performed my right leg PKR in 2017 and left leg PKR in 2020. My only regret was not doing it sooner. I followed his instructions and have had great success with both knees.

Dr. Mathews is, in a word, phenomenal. Our family has had all manner of total replacement surgeries with him and his wonderful staff at Fondren Orthopedic Group. Dr. Vasillos Mathews continues to be an outstanding model of excellence in his surgical field and in comprehensive patient care. If you want the best of the best (and who doesn’t?!)—Dr. Mathews is the man!
