List of Torrence Stepteau's Reviews
Physicians are only as good as their staff. One issue is an oversight or bad day. More than once is a bigger issue.
Dr Stepteau is great and has a great staff.
He is very compassionate and will take the time to sit down and talk everything over so when you leave you won't have any questions!
Don’t waste your time! Took 2 months to get appointment. Then I got a email with appointment in Denton location which is where I wanted. The day before my appointment got a email reminder saying it’s at the Hurst location, it’s very far for me I called 5 times no one answers the phone I left a message saying it’s too far I thought it was suppose to be at Denton location please call me back. Never got a call back. So I decide to drive the distance to Hurst. I arrive and they tell me the doctor is at Plano location. Office manager had the nerve to ask me to sign the agreement if call don’t to cancel appointment within 24 hours they charge a fee of $25. As you can imagine I told her where to go and how to get there!
I've called, sent medical records, spoke to your staff and done everything I know to do to get and appointment. You are a great doctor that I used to have before I moved out of state. Now I'm back and live down the street but can't get in
NO. I saw Dr. Stepteau June 15th and................. he did nearly 100% of the talking. He informing me that I didn't need the pain medication prescribed by my pain management doctor since I just, "CUT MY HAND". The minimizing of my accident as just a "cut hand" was tantamount to calling me a fraud and the doctors involved as being incompetent. This "CUT HAND" resulted in five hours of micro-surgery, three fingers that needed to be re-attached, permanent and partial disability of my left hand followed by additional surgery the following year and a third proposed but declined because of the "risk" involved. He told me that Physical Therapy would work ( I told him I've been in PT for 18 months / 3-times per week) he then said that a nerve stimulus inserted in my back would send electrical impulses that would work to relieve pain...... etc., etc. ............. Wow guess-work /experimentation rather than the only relief of pain I have had for the last two years.
He is the type of doctor who doesn’t listen to his patient. My husband has a cervical disc degeneration and has had lidocaine injection many times in the past without any improvement. When my husband first met this doctor, the doctor insisted to perform more lidocaine injections and of course, it didn’t work. Then the doctor transferred him to have a neck surgery. And after the surgery, my husband is still in pain and requires pain medication at the dosage which has been using for many years. Recently that doctor suddenly cut the dosage and the med and asked my husband to try it out for a month. Why would that doctor do that? My husband is on the same dosage for years without requesting to increase the dose and it works for my husband. Now he has to bear an unnecessary pain and he has to work too. I have seen how miserable he is when he is in pain, it is so painful to watch your love one in pain.
Dr. Stepteau is very knowledgeable and professional. He was there for both of my procedure . He explained what was going to happen. He is confident and reassuring. Dr. Stepteau gave me the confidence to get through my procedures without being nervous.
Stepteau mistrusts his own patients. He will cut you off without an explanation.
Back in 2010 I was in alot of pain and this man Dr. Stepteau totally helped me get through the pain and the hard days! Pain management plus physical therapy for 4 months and I was back on my feet and I stopped going 6 months later(4 months pain management plus 2 months taper off)! 8-9 years later im still pain free! I have not needed another pain management doctor since!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
