My experience here was unfortunate. The staff is not helpful with the transfer of medical records and X-rays or with helping you locate who can help you. There also seemed to be an undertone of the office being not so welcoming of self pay patients- even though it’s pay before service. Overall, I would not recommend Dr. Lee‘s. While I do hope Dr. Lee is an amazing surgeon, I was not able to have the pleasure of knowing. I did greatly appreciate help from some of the techs unwrapping and re-wrapping my bandages during my visit. Though, the over the phone staff was not as friendly or as helpful with delivering their protocol instructions. Unfortunately, through unclear information, retracted statements and lead insolent staff members, it did lead me to have concern about the care and service I was receiving. Ultimately, I did decide to cancel my surgery and seek care with an alternate orthopedic surgeon who I felt could take a payment and reconstruct my hand-both with ease. I did choose Dr. Meghan Wood at Texas Hand & Arm Center in Dallas to help me with my hand surgery. So far, Dr. Wood’s staff has been very helpful and pleasant to work with. After all, I really just want to get my hand fixed and not be worried in the process. UPDATE: Dr Meghan Wood and Dr Lee are friends. She did reject me as a patient per conversation with Dr Lee. I was told directly by Dr Lee I could go anywhere else to seek care, but act promptly. Then he gave word to reject me as a patient. This is all so unfortunate and terrible due to a time effective surgery. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND EITHER OF THESE DOCTORS to perform a surgery without bias.
This man is horrific. He took me out of a cast up past my elbow and did not send me for physical therapy. HE TOLD ME THE OTHER DOCTOR WAS WRONG. That I HAD CPRS and needed to see a pain specialist. Which again he did not recommend me to or tell me anything about. I DID NOT HAVE CPRS. I saw two doctors a nerve specialist who said "who is that doctor" and the orthopedic surgeon who could not believe I was NOT SENT TO PHYSICAL THERAPY. This guy was working with WORKMANS COMPENSATION so he doesn't care about the patient only putting money in his pocket. I wasn't trying to get out of work. I WORK IN THE RADIOLOGY. I know about injuries. I had one and this guy DID NOT TAKE CARE OF ME AT ALL BUT SENT ME OUT WORSE THAN I CAME IN. DO NOT GO HERE. I PROMISE YOU. STAY AWAY.
My review will be rather long but Dr Lee deserves my highest praise. I was referred to Dr Lee last November as a second opinion in a workman’s comp case after I sustained a wrist injury at work. Up to that point, I had been seen by another Orthopedic Surgeon, who quickly threw in the towel to obtain a proper diagnosis because of the constant red tape and frequent denials by the insurance carrier. I was not impressed with that particular doctor and did not improve at all under his care. On the very first visit, Dr Lee was able to properly diagnose my ligament tears in my wrist and I was overjoyed that he was willing to take over my care. His medical expertise and bedside manner are incredible. He will take time to answer any questions and concerns and explains everything in laymans’ terms, if needed. As mentioned above, my particular case has been plagued by insurance denials for just about every diagnostic test and non surgical procedure Dr Lee wanted to perform. He could have given up on me at that point and dropped me as a patient but instead, he fought the insurance carriers’ many denials tooth and nail. There is no telling how much time he has spent on the phone pleading my case and fighting denial after denial to get things approved. Dr Lee is a true patient advocate! Many orthopedic surgeons are more than eager to perform surgery right away, but upon my request, Dr Lee very patiently tried cheaper and less invasive treatments in hopes that I would improve. Nobody wants to have surgery so I truly appreciated Dr Lee’s more conservative approach. Despite all his efforts, surgery was no longer avoidable and he operated on my wrist a few months ago. The surgery was a complete success and I am getting close to the point where I can finally return to work. I am ELATED! I would also like to mention his incredible staff. His medical assistant, Kiara, is wonderful, knowledgeable, hardworking and welcoming. Dr Lee’s Workman’ Comp Coordinator, Jennifer, has been a God sent to me. She is always available to answer my many questions and she knows how to deal with insurance carriers and their adjusters. If you are looking for an absolutely amazing orthopedic hand and wrist specialist, then you have come to the right place. I can not thank Dr Lee and his staff enough for what they have done for me. Keep up the great work and please know that you are very much appreciated!
I began seeing Dr Lee in May for a 2nd opinion after a Wrist and Elbow fracture 9 months prior. I wish I would have started with Dr Lee. I am very happy with him and Kiera ?sp. He listens and does not rush you through a visit. He also explains procedures and options thoroughly. I am grateful I chose Dr Lee instead of some other choices I had.
I found Dr. Lee via Z*cD*c. Initially there was failure between Z*cD*c and Dr. Lee's office (the appointment I made via Z*cD*c did not show up in their systems). But getting past that, I was very impressed with Dr. Lee and his assistant, Kiera (sp?). I went to Dr. Lee as a hand specialist and he showed his expertise in the second visit, avoiding a painful procedure because it was no longer needed. I would highly recommend him and while I hope I never have to see him again, if I do have a hand/finger issue, I know who I will be reaching out to.

I have had both hands both and elbows operated on. Have had shoulder issues. My husband has had issues. I am in the midst of a broken wrist. Dr. Lee is amazing! He is professional, kind and gentle natured. You know he's doing something right since we moved over hr. away and still keep him as our doctor! His office personal are just as amazing!
Dr BJ Lee gets my seal of approval for his procedure performed on relocating my ulnar nerve, which had entrapment. Keep up the good work Doc!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
