List of Sidney Gicheru's Reviews
I requested an eye specialist, prior to my appointment. When I arrived, I was told that Dr. Gicheru would not be accessible. A lady gave me a basic eye exam and charged me $500.00. I was denied the opportunity to see an eye specialist. Second visit, they wanted more money, along with a $48.81 for first time visit. I let them know it was not my first time, they stated that patients who do not visit them for a while become first timers. I asked if I would be seeing an eye specialist this time, but they stated that the specialist was not in. I asked what exactly they would be doing to me, but they didn't know and kept insisting that I pay $48.81I feel that they do not care about my health and needs, but rather focus on getting more money from me and my insurance providers. I walked away, since they did not know what I was there for. My right eye continues getting stuck-shut, my lazy eye is getting worst, I am seeing more floaters none of which were addressed. What a waste of $ and time.
This man is more than amazing at what he does. Amazing staff and amazing doctor!
Great staff and doctor was very informative and funny.
I went to the Southlake clinic for cataract removal consultation. While the staff was friendly, I felt I was being railroaded into a $10k laser surgery with no other options. They were very aggressive in pushing me to schedule it "before I go blind". Never will go back there.
I had a vey warm greeting when signing in, and felt welcomed from David who did my pre- screening prior to seeing Dr. G. . I was seen by Dr. G. & assistant who were both friendly & extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend this practice. Thank You, Norm Lipow
I'm sure Dr. Gicheru is an excellent surgeon. I can't say he's a great person. He belittled me in front of his staff for asking him a question. If I'm paying thousands of dollars for an elective procedure that will permanently alter my life, I'd like to ask a few questions about it. He told me verbatim via video call, "It sounds like you don't trust me to be your surgeon." Don't TRUST you?! All I did was ask questions to clarify a mix up that YOUR assistant made. If you want to be able to ask all the questions you want, don't go here. If you're ok with blindly throwing your money over this way without any kind of guidance, feel free. Also, for the record, every other laser eye surgeon I consulted with said that universally offering punctual plugs was unnecessary and even potentially unwise for some (something he does by the way). Do your research. Don't go here.
Glad I stop in at their Open House! I was able to schedule an appointment for the next day. Very short wait time. Everyone was friendly and professional. Dr. Gicheru answered all my questions.
My eye sight is worse than before I had mono vision. I wear glasses full time now. Very bad choice on my part.
Process was not explained clearly up front, during pre-op, and not even after pre-op before the procedure. I cancelled the procedure. Staff also put through financing with Wells Fargo even though I cancelled.
I had an excellent experience. I was nervous, but Dr. Gicheru and his staff did everything to make me feel that I was important. The exams, surgery, and post care were the best I have ever had. I would recommend Dr. Gicheru to all my family, friends, and acquaintance.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
