What a blessing to have been referred to this talented surgeon. Dr. McKenzie repaired my large hiatal hernia and carefully explained the procedure, possible complications, and what to expect during recovery. His bedside manner is confident, informed, and unhurried. Five stars are not enough.

An anemic condition resulted in the discovery of a large hiatal hernia. Surgery this morning went smoothly and best of all, no pain. I was expecting significant discomfort but have only experienced what I’d consider a very mild stomach ache. Kudos to such a talented surgeon. Bedside manner was excellent with all information and possible complications clearly explained in a non hurried manner. If I could give ten stars I would!!

I have not been to his office as of yet, but will be in 2 weeks!! Dr was great at the hospital when I had to have emergency gallbladder removal!! Great bedside manner, explained everything. Very caring, could not have asked for better when you don’t live in the area!

Dr. McKenzie treated me for a brown recluse spider bite. Given the urgency of the situation, he was able to schedule me quickly for surgery. His level of professionalism, concern, post surgery follow up were impressive I definitely would utilize his services again without any hesitation.

Great first impression from Dr. McKenzie. I will add another, more detailed review on him after surgery but at this point the purpose of my review is to praise Jodie, his surgery scheduler. When you feel lost and helpless in this strange medical world it is nice to be able to speak with and count on someone who truly shows empathy and concern for your situation. Jodie has gone above and beyond to help us and address every one of our concerns. She is very proactive and I am glad she stepped in to assist us.

Bedside manner is very aloof and unfriendly. Failed to listen to my concerns or address them prior to or after surgery. Office staff is friendly as long as you don’t mind waiting 8 hours for post operation callback concerns or you can call 3 separate times like I did in order to get a response. Would NOT recommend.

I highly recommend Dr. James Mckenzie with Surgical Associates of the Mid-Cities as a General Surgeon. He did an excellent surgery on me and is very detailed, almost to the point of not even having any questions for when he ask me. Very kind and thorough!

Dr. McKenzie performed colon surgery on me. He was very thorough before and after surgery. I was very impressed, and extremely happy with the outcome. I would highly recommend him to any family member or friend.

Hmmm 2.8 stars doesn't sound very reliable for dr. States 8 years experience, has approximately 3 years as licensed dr, graduated from school 2014. Reconsider on dr McKensie! He performed unsuccessful simple surgery, then denied his diagnose.
