Kavita Mahajan Merritt's Online Review Report Card

I have seen Dr. Mahajan for 6 years now. I suffer from PCOS/Infertility and from the get-go she has always made me feel understood. From the very first visit she told me "Im making these notes so that when you get pregnant not if we will have them ready"..... She does have a long wait time but I feel it is justified with the amount of time she spends explaining things to you.

Dr. Mahajan an amazing doctor.

My daughter died at 38 weeks because dr Mahajan dismissed all my symptoms. I showed every sign of preeclampsia and she assured me I didn’t have it when two days later my baby died and I almost died of preeclampsia. I had extreme swelling, high blood pressure, sudden major weight gain and she said it was due to over eating and stress from the holidays even though I told her i wasnt stressed or over eating. I had horrible headaches that she dismissed. I was previously walking 30 minutes every day but at the last appointment I had I could hardly walk or stand from pain and she said it was just my body preparing for labor. After successfully having a rainbow baby I realized none of these symptoms were normal and definitely should have been caught but Dr mahajan rushes appointments and doesn’t listen.

Do not go to this doctor. I had an easy pregnancy and was very healthy but at my 38 week appointment I showed every sign of preeclampsia ( headaches, major weight gain, high blood pressure, couldn’t walk) and she assured I didn’t have preeclampsia. Two days later my baby died and I almost died of preeclampsia when my placenta burst.

My baby died at 38 weeks because of doctor mahajans carelessness. I had the easiest pregnancy and was very healthy. At my 38 week appointment I suddenly had very high blood pressure, extreme swelling, horrible headaches, major weight gain and could hardly stand. Dr said it was likely due to stress of holidays, over eating and my body getting ready for labor. I told her I wasn't over eating and was not stressed but she dismissed me and said I was fine. Two days later my placenta burst, my baby died and I almost died. After successfully having a rainbow baby I realized now of these symptoms were normal and should have been addressed.

Dr. Mahajan-Merritt was careless, under educated and dismissive (likely due to being under educated). It's sad that at the very least she didn't make an effort to compensate her incompetence by being more attentive. She provided no patient education and rushed the appointment which required a 2 month wait to be seen for some concerning issues. I also waited over 50 minutes past my appointment time in the waiting room. (And to be clear, I don't mind a wait for a doctor that is willing to spend an extra minute addressing my concerns but this was not at all the case with Dr. Merritt.) I left the office completely baffled. I'm 37 years old and I have never in my life seen a doctor this terrible.
