List of Shelley Sekula-Gibbs's Reviews
From the moment we walked in and went up to the window. I stood there looking at her behind the glass and waited for a response. NOTHING! She didn't e ...
Wow! I am addicted to Dr. Shelley Sekula Gibbs. She has a gentle hand with the needles and the eye of an artist. I have not met anyone who is as good as she! I highly recommend her and I look so much younger! Thank you Dr. Shelley!!!
I would not reccommend Dr. Sekula to anyone. I arrived at her office 15 minutes before my appointment and 1 hour after my scheduled appointment time I still had not been seen. The staff was very rude and would not answer why i was waiting so long. Horrible Dr. and staff.
I took my brother there twice to have skin cancers removed. I was impressed with her work. within a couple of weeks you could hardly tell that anything had been done...I had expected some scarring. I was surprised at how long it took. They took my brother in right on time, and he was back in the waiting room within an hour. But then, you have to wait an hour before they know whether they "got everything" and both times I was there, my brother had to go in for additional work. Then there is the wait again. So we were there from 9 a.m. until 1:30. Maybe that's just the way those things go, not sure, but it would be helpful if there was coffee and water in the waiting area, and for goodness sake, get some more comfortable seating for the loved ones and patients who are waiting! BUT, the important thing is that the work seemed to be done very well. The other things are only inconveniences!
Dr. Sekula Gibbs is a caring dermatologist. She stays up to date and does a great, thorough exam. I've had several services through the years and always choose to come back to her! Couldn't ask for a more concerned and professional doctor. Dr. Gibbs takes her time with me and always answers all my questions. She's caught malignant melanoma and saved my life! This dermatologist is so dedicated and understanding. Did I mention she's gentle? Her staff is wonderful, as well.
had a skin cancer on my back for years, but when the appointment came around it seemed to disappear. i was going to cancel but thought better of it, to check for other problems. made me feel embrassed with my top off. was afraid of what she would do. she sprayed the anthestic on my back to show me it was only cold. did nothing else. left her office and charged me an outrageouse amount of money for a visit that lasted maybe 10 minutes and did nothing but spray me and twirl me around. that's not being a good doctor.
This office practice has changed drastically for the worse. If you want to see the Dr. (even if you are an existing patient with a serious medical condition), you will need to wait at least 3 months. As a longtime patient, I always found the Dr. to be kind, intelligent, and professional and her office staff to be amazing. Everything has changed over this last year. This practice needs to list the PA as the attending physician because the Dr. has disappeared, and the staff is disinterested in the patients to say the least.
It wasn't difficult to get an appointment and now I know why. She may be losing all of her patients after the first visit. When she asked me to tell her why I was there, I gave her three reasons (so I have bad skin). Before I could say anything else, in the most unreasonable and rude manner she said, "Wait a minute! I'm only going to take care of one thing today ok"? A few minutes after the "examination", she quickly filled a prescription & told me to go to the nurse's station. When I saw the nurse I asked her if Dr. Shelley Sekula-Gibbs was having a bad day or if she normally treats her patients that way. She nurse smiled and said, "She has a lot on her plate". A professional doctor would never treat a patient that way, I don't care what kinda of day they're having. Any time I visit a doctor for the first time I let them know all of my concerns, they jot them down, and yes we take care of them one at a time, but for her to cut me off like that was flat out rude. Needless to say, I will never return. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS "DOCTOR".
Do not let all the hype, credentials and the "pioneer" fool you. I made that mistake and got sucked in. Big mistake!Dr. Sekula-Gibbs passes down procedures to be done by poorly trained staff while she vanishes! I thought I was getting the doctor, but you hardly ever get her doing any procedures. She will rush in and out less than no time leaving somebody else to do it. They are not doctors and I suspect they had a crash course or some 3 day seminar and that makes them certified to stick needles in your face! OmgNEVER AGAIN! dont say you were not warned!
Both times I had an appointment I waited over 45 minutes. The staff is very rude and I walked away feeling bad about myself and my skin. The only good thing I will say about the practice is that the doctor encouraged me to get off YAZ.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
