List of Texas Skin Center's Reviews
I’ve given this practice two chances. Both times the ball was dropped on my paperwork for my biologic enrollment. I have health insurance through the VA because my husband is a veteran but that didn’t make a difference. On top of that they don’t like giving samples to help you until you can get your medications. I’ve been to another dermatology practice in Kingwood that was MORE than willing to assist me with samples so that I didn’t have to suffer until my biologics were approved. If you don’t stay on top of these people things will NOT get done. It’s sad that you basically have to do their job for them in order to take care of your health. The provider I saw was very nice, but other than that I would not recommend them unless you want to end up frustrated and waiting for weeks on end to get the proper care and attention. I do not recommend this place at all.
I had an appointment on 5/9/23. It was a follow-up for a refill of a medication that I've had previously from here. I had my required blood draw. I called 2 weeks later (5/25/23) and the assistant told me they had filled out all of the paperwork and sent it in for the prior authorization to my insurance and she told me it always takes a while. After hearing nothing I called my insurance on 6/7/23 and the rep told me they had no paperwork for any kind of prior authorization from anyone. She called the Texas Skin Center and they said they were sorry, They were short-staffed, and would send it in within the hour. Fast forward a week (6/15/23) and I called my insurance back. They faxed it in on the 14th with my name and a diagnosis code. No other required data for a prior auth. I have tried calling and can't get an assistant to answer, it goes to voice-mail and I can't leave a message because the mailbox is full. Keep in mind the message for the mailbox says they are so very sorry their busy and will call back as soon as possible. And I can't leave a message?? My diagnosis is plaque psoriasis. It is painful for me. It has been over 5 weeks and they haven't even gotten the prior authorization paperwork in. Even if they short staff this is negligence. Update: After calling TSC several times I did receive a call from them that they had a shot they could give me and I could come in and get it anytime if I wanted. I went within the hour and I did receive it. Thank goodness.
Convenient location, friendly staff, and they were quick with my appointment. My only Issue was I had a hard time making an appointment as the website said make it online but then had me call. I had to call for several days before I was finally able to talk to someone. Despite that, I plan on staying as a patient here as the rest of the process was great.
So disappointed with the pricing for prescriptions I was prescribed. I saw Shianne and she didn’t even look close to my face like a previous doctor did. Felt rushed. Prescribed me 3 medicines , 2 topical 1 oral. Yet 2 are not covered by my insurance! I can’t even get in contact with my doctor only nurses. I’m not going to pay so much just for dermatologist. Why not prescribe an alternative or check my insurance before prescribing it! Still haven’t gotten any prescription and this was 2 weeks ago I saw her. Go to another dermatologist because shown me is only a practitioner. Smh! Also I wish there was an email and not only phone number to call…
My referral was in with this office for a month , & I wanted nearly 3 weeks for my appointment which is urgent .. just for them to call me the day before and tell me that they don’t accept my insurance … super disappointed… then when I called I couldn’t even get the receptionist to give me her name not sure why she refused to give it but .. never got her name …
TERRIBLE communication at the Kingwood location. I was NEVER able to talk to a nurse or doctor until my son ended up in the ER with a severe allergic reaction to medicine prescribed by PA. This could have been avoided if someone besides the answering service took our calls, or someone from the office responded to our emails that included pictures of the horrible rash! Everytime we called we were put on hold or transfered to the answering service where we were told, "we are short handed" and "everyone is very busy." Doesn't seem that patient care and concerns are a priority. Will not be returning!
Extremely professional but not clinical. Explained everything in detail before it happened. Upfront with cost as well.
By far the best and most attentive place I've ever been. And I've been to several. They listened to all my concerns, addressed everyone of them, plus some I didn't know I had. They are thorough, professional and kind. I left there feeling well cared for. Thank you for a wonderful visit.
They made me feel like family and gave me all the information I asked for. Professional and not a long wait
Very nice staff. Fast and very pleasant.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
