List of Brookdale Lakeway Assisted Living's Reviews
well let me just start out saying the nursing staff is horrible. the night nurse cursed and used the F word to transport staff and new patient for coming at 8 pm. he not wanting to deal with her or us. he told us to " yeah gtf on the elevator and leave." the pt was very uncomfortable and did not want to stay. the night nurse who is an African American male who's name starts with an O" is a very mean angry and awful nurse and treats people so badly. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. patients are left and not cared for. especially one who says " why TF ARE YOU BRINGING A PATIENT TO ME THIS LATE F YALL."
The staff here were very responsive to my requests. They were kind, knowledgeable and helpful in every way. My husband received excellent therapy so he was able to return home with even more skills. I highly recommend this center for skilled nursing.
We are elderly. My wife has Parkinson's Disease. She needs to have pills administered daily on a rigid schedule. On Friday, she fell and dislocated her shoulder as well as other damage. I recognized I would have difficulty caring for her properly. We admitted her to Brookdale Lakeway Skilled Nursing on Saturday. We told them how important her pills are for my wife's well being and they needed to stick to the schedule rigidly. At 7:15 AM on Sunday, my wife called and said the staff has been non-responsive to her calls for help and they had not administered her pills. I went to the facility to find her sitting in a wheelchair shaking like a leaf. Breakfast food was strewn about the floor because she could not get it into her mouth efficiently because of her shaking. I asked if her pills had been administered. The aid said no. They were getting to it. I told them I was taking her home. The head of nursing, Cade, was insistent I sign a form saying discharging her was against the orders on "my" doctor. I tried to change that to "Brookdale's Doctor" and they would not let me. They said it was a legal form and I could only sign it. That is not true in the world of contract law. I refused to sign. They said my insurance and/or Medicare would not pay if I did not sign. I pointed out that I was paying out of pocket, so that was not an issue. At that point, Cade ripped the form out of my hand, and accused me of being belligerent. I pointed out I was only responding to his bullying. I expect this man is used to bullying elderly folks who cannot defend themselves. My wife and I left shortly before 10 AM. At that time we saw the person administering medicine working her way down the hall. She would have given my wife her 7:30 AM pills two and a half hours late plus my wife would have now been missing her 9:30 AM pills! Bottom line is this place is grossly understaffed and did not care properly for my wife. They talk a good game, but their performance is marginal to poor. I attribute that to poor management and putting the need to extract insurance and Medicare payments ahead of the well being of their patients. I would not consider this facility to care for a loved one.

Do not leave your loved ones here. Unfortunately, they will not be attended to by staff.
My mother has lived here for a couple years now and the place has exceeded my family's expectations in many ways. The staff are kind, patient, and attentive. Especially Gabby, who works the front desk. She is always pleasant and really goes the extra mile. The facility is clean, handsomely appointed, and upbeat. There is a library, a piano, and lots of outdoor areas where residents can relax. My mom enjoys the food. I hope that when the time comes for me to go to assisted living, I can be at a place as positive and cheerful as Brookdale. The facility is great, but the caring staff are what makes it really special.
Everything about this place is not recommended, my mother was admitted to this place for help after having Two above the knee amputations she entered with no wounds and now has 3 stage 4 wounds from their poor services , they do not rotate her as they should she is not mobile , they have failed to apply bars to bed we have asked 3 times now yet no help , the rooms are not cleaned daily and half of true staff smell of cigarettes which is highly unsanitary for these elderly human beings with respiratory problems i have went 2 times and had to remind the nurse that is in charge of the med cart that it was almost lunch time and yet no am meds were recieved along with no insulin which is dangerous especially since my mother has seizures without medication in am !!!!!!! I think half of the staff needs to be de checked for their licenses since such poor services are done at this facility . We pay way more than enough to have our family’s tAken care of to receive such lack of care this is sad , upon arrival no ID is checked nor temperature upon arrival at facility which is probably the cause of why COVID 19 is so high in the assisted living area , half of the staff does not use face masks , do not send your loved ones here we are transferring soon to a safer cleaner more reliable and affordable facility that actually provides good care for my mother .
An Excellent Facility for Your Loved one who Needs Assisted Living and Quality Care !!!!
This place is pathetic. My mother was abused multiple times in the skilled nursing side. They still have the exact same decor and bedspreads and banged up furniture that they've had since 2013. Most of the staff is abusive. There is incompetence from the top down starting with the nurse who oversees the facility. This woman is beyond rude, completely full of herself, and in my humble opinion, completely incompetent. I have videos and photographs to prove the abuse. There are a couple of exceptional CNA's, and quite frankly they should not even be working at this crappy facility. But I will say if it had not been for one absolute angel (CNA) named Eden my 89 year old mother would be dead. They want to believe they are the best in town. I guess I would put them at the top of the heap in the hell-hole division.
****** WARNING********this place is dangerous!! My friend was admitted to Brookdale, Lohman's Crossing in November 2022. I am a registered nurse and I must report I have never b been so disappointed in the care of patients. The staff does not answer the call bells, you can press the call bell and it can greater than one hour for someone to acknowledge it and most of the time they do not answer it all. Realizing the staff are LVNs and not RNs may make a difference in quality of nursing care. The patient care assistants do not listen to the patients: one gentleman yanked on my patient who had a herniated disk causing severe pain. My friend fell on the floor in her room and laid on the floor for 45 minutes. Another walked in and when my friend did not respond as he liked -- he walked out with rude remarks. Pain medication was not given on time or when asked for it by the patient. When pain medication is given the health professional is to ask the patient the number (scale 1-10) of her pain. This was never the case. I spoke to the director of nursing -- which was a joke. She came at me like my friend was the problem and presented herself in a hateful manner. While my friend was a patient she developed a gastric ulcer which was misdiagnosed as constipation. I informed the nurse my friend needed a flat-plate abdominal x-ray but was ignored. This would have given them a hint that she was not constipated. The next day we took her to the emergency room where she was rushed to surgery to remove the large amount of pus in her stomach. Without that action she would have died. If you are looking for good care, this is not the place for your loved one.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
