James Kevin Kaufman's Online Review Report Card

He operated on me Jan 13, 2021, of all the surgeries I have had to have it was worst in my life I am still suffering from pain in my neck and after surgery for 6 weeks my food had to be purred could no swallow, voice box was messed up I sounded like a man that is just now in June coming around. The operation took 5 1/2 hrs and he was 3 hrs late starting. My first visit to see him the scales in his office was messed up so he rescheduled what that had to do with anything I have no idea. Went back to see him, staff showed X-rays of what was done after my son and I sat there over an hour we ask if he was in everyone his attendance people at the desk and in the back said he was there waited another hour after confronting everyone there they admitted he was still in surgery we walked out. Doctor called after 6 PM to apologize! Needless to say I did not go back and had all paper work transferred to another Doctor. At the time he did the surgery in a Lancaster ,Tx hospital at this time he was with a group Encompass. No wonder he has been with so many groups. PLEASE BEWARE

Excellent doctor and staff. Very genuine and sincere doctor with a sense of humor and an extremely passionate physician that takes his job seriously. He goes above and beyond the call of duty, ensuring that all patients get the treatment that they need.

Dr. Kaufman and his staff are the best. Attitude and professional demeanor are always the same. Dr. Kaufman is very informative and explained my condition with the aid of his technology devices. It's always a pleasure to visit his office.

Did you know that he used to go by the name J. Kevin Kaufman? Did you know that he lost his board certification? Look up why. I previously wrote a really long review but it did not post. I am just suggesting you check him out. He kept me and the hospital waiting two hours for my surgery (crainiotomy). I was hooked up ready to be wheeled down to surgery. I had IV, blood pressure cuff, etc. ready when he showed up red-faced and shaking. Because he was so late the hospital had to give the special surgery suite to the next doctor who reserved. So I was unhooked, sent downstairs to sober up from the meds and sent home. One week later I was scheduled at a different hospital. I was there for 10 days. He never came by or called. He sent a staff member from his office which used to be at The Center for Neurological Disorders on Summit Ave. Gee, I wonder why he is no longer with such a major group? That surgery was supposed to provide me with relief from Trigeminal Neuralgia. What it did was leave me permanently deaf in my left ear and with a condition called Anesthesia Dolorosa. I found out later this is the worst outcome (besides death). Funny, he never mentioned anything about that. SO MUCH MORE. Be careful. Check him out thoroughly.

I have been having a back and neck issue for over a year now and over that time, I have seen, supposedly some of the best doctors in the DFW area. It has been an extremely difficult year due to my back and neck issue. I started to give up on trying to solve my problem because no one has been able to figure out what is wrong. After seeing Dr. Kaufman and the rest of his staff at Surgical Consultants of America, I finally feel like I am in the right hands. Everyone at the office seemed like they really cared about my problem and that they were going to help me figure it all out. During my appointment, they gave me so much attention and I felt like I was their only patient at the time. Dr. Kaufman performed a few tests on me and reviewed some of my past MRIs. He was able to find some things that could be causing my issues and he broke down what those were and how it was affecting me. He then went on to explain that based on what he saw, I shouldn't be worried about any serious problems but he wanted me to get a few more tests and some more recent MRIs completed in order to get a better idea of what is going on with me. I left my appointment feeling like I had a plan moving forward and that I was going to be ok. And that felt good because I have felt hopeless in the past.

Dr. Kaufman is a very knowledgeable physician. He explains your options clearly, step by step in Spanish or English he is bilingual. His staff is also very caring and helpful. For Dr. Kaufman all our gratefulness and our blessings, he is and will always be our neurosurgeon.

Dr. Kaufman has been a Gods call for us. He is the best doctor that I know. His experiance, professionalism, undertanding and kindness make us feel so safe and confortable in the most uncertain and dificult time. God bless you Dr. Kuafman.

Dr. Kaufman is the best doctor I have ever came in contact with. He is very professional and funny while taking good care of his patients. State of the art technology for your surgery needs. His entire staff very professional and nice. Nice clean office, great rehab center he is connected with. I can't say enough about this man. Go visit Dr. Kaufman!!!! S.H
