The Dr asked what I wanted done then told me they can’t give me a steroid shot, he need it to diagnose me first. Didn’t even take any blood work, urine nothing ! And basically told me well your numbness and tingling in your arms are from you being pregnant. Which I already knew and only reason he knew I am pregnant is because I told him !! walked smooth out after he told me he could not treat me I said okay so you basically want me in PAIN ! And they better not bill me nobody took my vitals or NOTHING!
Very impersonal. Unorganized and chaotic. Sitting there hearing two different staff members from two separate sides calling the same person speaks to the break in communication. When I finally saw the doctor, she didn't examine my injury, didn't prescribe pain meds or even bother to ask how the pain was. The radiology techs were probably the only ones who did anything right. Upon discharge they weren't even going to put an Ace bandage on my knee. I had to ask for it. Will not return to.this place and likely won't use UTMB for my health care. I will stick to the medical professionals in the city.
I completely agree with another review who said this is a place you come to die. Nurse kelly moore made my experience the worst i could have ever imagined in my worst nightmare. After yelling at me the whole entire time she virtually forced me to leave the ER. I asked to be taken to Memorial Herman league city and its a good thing i did. They found 3 broken bones in my back!!!
Obviously these reviews mean nothing. I see UTMB responding with the same ridiculous message to these reviews and nothing is changing. I wouldn’t come here at all if possible but both my parents live close to this place and when there is an emergency this is where I have to take them. Every single time I’m in here I see the exact same thing. Horrible horrible care. It’s happen to me and I’ve seen it happen several times and I’m actually watching it right now. People walking in with agonizing pain or full of anxiety due to chest pain or whatever else symptoms they have and this staff is just behind the check in glass laughing and on their phones not giving a damn about these patents. This lady literally just rolled her cancer patient mom in here complaining about major chest pain and the girl was on her phone and the two staff members laughing behind her. She was asking one of them to watch her mom so she can move her car and they literally said “ just park her over there”. Again I know this probably means nothing but I would recommend anywhere else to go for any kinda of care. They literally don’t care. UTMB literally robs trillions of dollars from everyone each year then will give you grief over validating more then one parking ticket even if you’ve been here for hours waiting on care. I could go on and on but again it’s pointless. I’m sure I’ll see the same copied and pasted response from UTMB. Go anywhere else!! As soon as I posted this that same lady with the cancer, patient Mom Complaining of chest pain Comes back in from parking her car And these people won’t even let her go back to see her mom!! So I had to edit this review!! Again, I know it probably means nothing But if I can prevent one single person from coming here then this review was worth it!!
I gave a 1 star review only because giving them a 0 was not an option. I have switched every one of my doctors out of this horrible institution. I have reported the billing department to the TX Dept of Fraud and a case is pending. The staff is the worst I have ever had the experience of dealing with.l in any medical facility. Run, do not walk, away from this hospital.
Unfortunately, have had to make two trips to the ER here. One for my wife and one for my son. Both times I’ve been impressed with the facility and staff. Everyone is kind, patient, and knowledgeable.
The WORST STAFF I have ever experienced. Nurses gave eye rolls and are CLEARLY BURNT OUT. Terrible experience
If I could give this place a zero I would this is the place you come to die at. I came in with loss of bladder and bowl I had a fall that morning was in severe back pain from the fall. I also have trisomy x disorder that I was born with, so I have my mom accommodate for me. Anyways the intake nurse didn’t want to read what my mom handed to him he said and I quote “ she’s 29 “ I may be 29 but mentally I’m no different than a child. Then I asked for someone higher than him and they gave me a church pastor nurse. I got handed off left and right I am diagnosed with spinal stenosis in my canal with no control over my bladder.. they instead of providing me care wanted to do a rectal exam on me what does that have to do with my pain and loss of bladder. All in all don’t come here oh and if you ask for a patient advocate all you get is a number I was discriminated on due to my disability and what I’m diagnosed with they also lied and said they can’t do mri’s there. Update went to a different hospital and I have stenosis, 3mm herniated lumbar disc in my l4-l5 with stenosis , I have a cervical Left paracentral 3mm disc protrusion/osteophyte complex at C3-4 I also have Right paracentral 2 mm disc protrusion at C5-6 with spondylosis and facet arthropathy creating some mild right-sided foraminal narrowing. And lastly findings for me being admitted was a 1.2 cm pineal gland cyst in my brain. All in all utmb didn’t do shit for me and another hospital found all these findings after multiple test and utmb told me they couldn’t do anything. Update they lied on their intake paperwork For me Pamala G Drever never even mentioned that while my mom as my witness threaten me with a rectal exam which isn’t documented anywhere and she I quote “oh no I’m not gonna do this and have you say what I think your gonna tell me I’m doing” then proceeds to leave the room I was in! So they have some type of thing they do now that test patients DONT COME HERE
This is a horrible hospital!!! I sat in the ER for over 3 hours and left before I ever got seen. Now I get to argue with them over an $1800 bill that they are trying to pin on me for services that I never received. Go to Memorial Herman. They actually care about people!
I developed a severe tooth abscess that quickly got out of control. My dentist explained the infection was too deep to treat in-office and needed to be handled in the ER. When I went to the ER, I was sent home and told it was cellulitis in my face. Unfortunately, I was given the wrong medication and no real treatment. By then, my face had swollen to the size of a balloon, and my lips looked like I had a bad filler injection. It was a frightening and frustrating experience. I was also not there was no doctor or oral surgeon in the US that’s at a hospital. Yet my doctor directed me directly to 3 places I could go and for my infection drained in OR and proper treatment to go back to my dentist. Shame on them.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
