List of Juan S Pico's Reviews
We have had 2 very inconvenient situations with NIMA. My husband and I are patients of Dr Pico, he is great. However, the process to get our bloodwork done prior to our appointment has been beyond bad and inconvenient. I went in March on a Saturday because I was told by NIMA that I could go to the lab and my orders would be there. 1st location they told me I could go to was closed (Medical Center) so I drove to Stone Oak and after waiting almost an hour, I was told they didn’t have my orders. I had to reschedule my appointment that had been set for months. Today, July 6, my husband went to get his bloodwork done and I told him to call Dr Picos office prior to driving to confirm his orders were sent. He called NIMA, and they confirmed. Well, he arrived and orders were not there. He called Dr Picos office and was on hold 15 min before someone answered. When they finally answered, they told him they’d be sent in 5 min. 30 minutes later, still no orders. We both called, I was on hold for almost 25 minutes before someone answered, jut to be placed back on hold. Here’s the biggest problem, if you do not call by 8 am, you can forget about being helped because they will not answer. Or be ready to stay on hold for over 20 minutes. When asked about the hold time they told my husband they’re understaffed and they told me they’re very busy. I’ve been having trouble getting through since February of this year, I would think if it was a problem of being understaffed that it would be fixed by July.
I am always seen at the time of my appointment is scheduled. The staff is very nice an helpful. Dr. Pico is very nice an is always concerned about you health and any questions you may have
I am a new patient to the Nema office and to Dr Juan Pico. My first new patient visit was very satisfying. The front office staff was professional, friendly and courteous. Very little waiting time to be called back. I enjoyed meeting Dr Pico. He took the time to talk to me to understand my needs. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and most courteous. I am pleased to have found a Primary Care facility and primary Care Physician of this calibur.Vince Vangi
Most of the time my appointment consists of the lab work was good, do I need any prescriptions and see you in 6 months. This time there were a few things I wanted to discuss with Dr. Pico but felt rushed out.
I've been a patient using the United Healthcare Asssoc. for quiet a few years. After losing my PCP, I went on the hunt for a replacement doctor. I wanted to stay in U.H.A. and I started my search. Luckily, I came across this location and picked from the list of doctors. I was completely satisfied with my choice of Dr. Juan Pico. Hopefully, he'll agree to be my next PCP.Thanks so much for helping me.
Just listens and gives positive feedback. Even when we moved out of the area I still drive the extra distance to come see Dr. Pico. Highly recommended.
Friendly service all around. They keep their appointments on time. Was there a few minutes earlier than scheduled appointment and was promptly taken back. Dr. Pico is great and informational. Would recommend him to anyone.
As always, the office staff, Veronica and Dr. Pico were helpful, professional and took care of my every need with a smile

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
