Initially, I was happy about my first appointment with her. However, after she told me she would clear me for a surgery (the reason I went to her in the first place) and that she supported the surgery, she later refused to. My insurance said the procedure wasn't medically necessary and so my surgery was delayed over two months for a procedure she told me was optional and a suggestion for future care and knowledge since I have a family history of heart issues. She continued to appeal my insurance co's decision without speaking to me or informing me. They say you have to self-advocate these days if you want decent medical care and that couldn't be more true. My phone messages and emails were treated as though they weren't important enough to return, and as a result I will end up go to a different cardiologist in the future. I've never had such issues with a doctor of any kind. I guess it's a good thing I'm willing to advocate for myself.

Once I got a letter from the insurance company eight weeks later saying they were reversing their decision and would approve it, the office couldn't figure out if it was approved or not, even though I provided them the letter. Dr. Jenkins is a phenomenal physician. I was extremely nervous about anything related to my heart, but she calmed my fears. She educated me about the condition I had. She contacted me while she was out-of-town to inform me of some abnormal test results, knowing I was overly concerned. She promptly put me through a round of diagnostic tests and procedures that ultimately showed I was in great shape and had little to worry about. She is funny, talkative, but honest. She's a straight-shooter, which I like. Plus, she's a professor at the Health Science Center, so she really knows her stuff.I will definitely be recommending Dr. Jenkins to all my friends and family for any cardiac care!

I have been going to Dr. Jenkins for 12 years and have only positive feedback for this provider.
Dr. Jenkins is very nice. I highly recommend her.
Horrible doctor. This doctor doesn''t care about patients, wait is long, makes lots of mistakes and doesn't seem very knowledgeable. Communication skills and personality need lots of improvement. I wouldn't ever recommend this doctor to anyone.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
