I see Dr Mc PHERSON's FNP on a regular basis and the doc when she is unavailable. He has been nothing but nice and professional to me when I have seen him. When I was in UMC he came to see me once. His office hospital staff saw me remainder days until I was transferred to rehabilitation facility. He did his part.. My point is ... in my opinion there are MD's everywhere... take your pick. This office is mine.
Dr. McPherson is a great doctor!!! He makes you feel comfortable and he listens to every detail that I explain about my unique ailments. How my medications are effecting me and the pain that i endure daily. He explains everything and makes sure that I understand the information he is providing and the prescriptions. He understands what I'm going through and takes his time to ensure my successful recovery and manage what he prescribes for me so I'm at least comfortable with the pain I love with. His staff is always very helpful and curtious..and fun!!! Thank you! Gary Gillard
I have always praised this office because of the wonderful Dr. Megan Green. She has kept my MS stable with her excellent care and has addressed all of my needs. When she transitioned to another doctor, I followed to continue my care with her. Just recently, I needed to see her for a refill, but she was out sick, so Dr. McPherson's office saw me in an emergency. I was so thankful for this, and it was what I had come to expect. However, my opinion of the office has soured because of the billing manager. He was quick to tell me before leaving that UMC, UMC Physicians, and TTUHSC were dropping my insurance and that I would lose Dr. Green, my neuro, and all of the specialists handling my care. I would never be able to use UMC because of the poor billing handling my insurance apparently provides. He complained about prior authorizations and appeals, time it takes to settle claims. He acted like it was a relief to be rid of my insurance, a really great insurance at that. I was in a panic, my anxiety ramped. I imagined being back in my wheelchair, my disease progressing from doctors not knowing me like my team does changing my medications to not giving the level of care I've received over the past 2 decades I've come to receive from UMC and TTUHSC. He told everyone in the waiting room on the insurance they were being dropped within a few week. He then asked the secretary to look up all patients on the insurance to notify them. He then said my insurance was sub-par, and in so many words, a relief to be rid of. I was in shock. I left that day, going into the next - panicking, calling my insurance, my doctors - only to be told he misinformed me. My insurance is dropping a claims processor they use and changing to another, but that will not affect my care. I will not lose my PCP, my neuro, my specialists, my hospital. My insurance was not being dropped. I can forgive being misinformed, if I had received a call from this man giving an apology and correcting the misinformation he provided me and the anxiety he caused. However, he never called. Billing is the last person you see walking out of the clinic, they are the last impression you leave with. This man does not need to be working in billing misunderstanding the issue concerning my insurance, and does not need to be working around patients with the lack of empathy he expressed.
We moved to back to Lubbock after about 20 years and my wife changed Doctors to Dr. Michael McPherson around Nov.of 2019. She passed away on February 13th, 2021. She was fine before she met Dr. McPherson. He changed all of her medications she'd taken for years and placed her on several psychotic meds! Within a year she had lost her mind completely, as if she were a 5 year old! Dr. McPherson didn't even notice it until I went with her into the exam room and made him look her in the eye and ask her questions. His eyes opened up to the size of fifty cent pieces as his jaw dropped and said my ... you can't deal with this on your own. You have to have Home Health Care. That was on October 15th, 2020. Our insurance company's benefits covered every penny of the cost of Home Health Care, however Dr. McPherson never ordered it!!!. Stephanie Bolton, with Adult Protective Services even called and requested it for my wife and Gabrielle, someone who works for Dr. McPherson, refused to request the service for us. I don't know if he even asked Dr. McPherson about the request from Stephanie, or did he just make a medical decision on his own??? Anyway my beautiful wife passed away in her sleep alone, the night of February 12th, 2021. It only took Dr. Michael McPherson a little over a year to kill my wife of 40 years. He never told me that she might have just a little time left. Never even told me what kind of illness she had. Never called to check on her. Never talked to us about the 13 days of hospitalization she had a couple of months before. Nothing, I never thought for a single minute that she was going to die! We didn't get to call her 4 kids, her grandchildren, her 5 brothers and sisters, her friends, to let them know so they could say goodbye! However, Dr. Michael McPherson did sign her death certificate and he listed several things as the cause of death. Why didn't he ever tell me about all of the reasons that he listed on the Death Certificate???How does this person get to continue to pretend that he is a Doctor. Why is he not in JAIL!!!!???
I have always praised medical personnel in Lubbock but this recent experience with this ofc leaves me speechless . You couldn’t get a call through and I would call main number and ask if they were closed ( Erin Garcia NP) and they would tell me no . They had someone call me for phone appt and finally got my refills and I don’t even feel like going into the rest . It only gets worse 🙁🙁🙁😡😡
THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE. Care was decent, not much personality but not bad service. Middle of the pack tbh.
Very condescending and full of himself. Rarely see him, usually can only see his PAs. Gives flippant diagnoses without actually reviewing findings of specialists (said chest pain was either digestive or musculoskeletive when in the hospital. The cardiologist diagnosis was partial blockage and angina.) McPherson is a quack more interested in making a buck than the care of his patients.
We see the FNP Mrs.Garcia she is great she treats our family and is always helpful
Dr. McPherson has always taken excellent care of me and my family since becoming our PCP in 2016, I believe. He keeps up with our medical issues, asks questions, clarifies conditions and medications. We appreciate his presence and expertise.
I wanted to commend the office manager, Gabriel, for being a tremendous help in all situations, especially with getting prescriptions adjusted. He is always very professional and courteous and most importantly, he gets it done. Thank you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
