List of Umc Family Medicine At West Wind's Reviews
I was up early so I can sign my daughter to be seen since 8am. So when 9 came around, the app doesn't wait. So I call this guy tells me we have patients in lobby and put me on hold. So I went up there still on hold , just stay few blocks away. I gets up there people sitting down. Two behind the counter and not answering calls, but I am still on hold. So I asked her the portal not working. She says we have to take care walk in first. But that's not the protocol for being seen They always tell you , you have to go on our website. So I left still on hold. So they finally picked up the phone and try to give a an excuse, but just didn't know I was just there to see if they would going to make up something. Sure enough I was right. Horrible service
Tried to call just for a quick question and said leave a voice msg. I hung up and called again thinking maybe they were busy and automatically kept going in to a information voice with no more option for a voicemail. Very irritating
Tried calling the clinic phone rings several times then I hear music. They don't even speak to you and ask "If you can hold"? They just automatically put you on hold, whether you like it or not! Bad business!!
Went in today around 1:30. The girl at the desk was very unpleasant. This is my clinic, I’ve never experienced anyone here to be rude and uncaring. I told her that I needed to be seen. She said, “Well, the wait is 5 hours and you have to stay in here and wait. There were about 6 people in the lobby and one was called back while I was there. To add to her misery, my husband asked if he could reschedule an appointment he had for Monday. She behaved like it was an inconvenience. I chose not stay as it was obvious I wasn’t welcome there today.
Rebecca the medical assistant was so nice. They were very busy but she managed to keep her composure and doing it with a great attitude. We need more people like her in healthcare!
First doctor I've been to in a long time, and I was dreading the experience, but Kelsey and Monica were so kind and helpful. Every concern of mine was addressed. So thankful for them!
I have severe endometriosis. After major surgery and staying in the hospital, they refused to refill my pain medicine and treated me like dirt when I asked for it. I was bed ridden for over a week and could not function from the pain. A few months later I broke my ankle severally. I came to get examination, they left me in room for hours, didn’t do an x-ray on me, couldn’t figure out that my ankle was severally broken even though my bone was protruding through, and sent me on my way. The nurse gave me a shot of torodol before I left. She didn’t even tell me what she was injecting me with before she did it. Torodol is not a safe medication and can cause major implications. I was not even told they were going to give this to me before they did it. Horribly unprofessional, incredibly rude, and a total waste of money. If you are looking to get treated like a human and get medical care, I suggest you go elsewhere. Because of these experiences, I doubt I ever go to the doctor again. I rather slowly bleed out in pain then get treated like this ever again.
I got a wait from home appt and the receptionist kept calling saying she couldn't run my insurance and self pay was $200 and she called my insurance they were closed which they weren't if you pushed the right option to verify benefits. I had just used the same insurance days before at another location it was valid.. I ended up canceling my appointment very disappointed i have been here multiple times and never had this problem.
I wanted to give the UMC West Wind Family Medicine a TON of credit for their due diligence that they performed for me today!!!It was in regards to me getting a new Dexcom CGM, and Tandem blood glucose monitor. UMC is not an Endocrinology specialist facility. However, Brian Caldwell, the nursing staff, really assisted me today in getting all of the required forms filled out appropriately so that I could acquire this new insulin pump and blood glucose monitoring meter.I was able to speak, face2face, with Brian a few times today. Brian was very respectful and was in tune with the time urgency that the forms I needed to get filled out and returned to the appropriate companies (Dexcom and Edgepark Medical Supplies-3rd party that provides Dexcom and Tandem supplies) ASAP. The reason, as noted, is because my deductible was met for the year. This is a prime opportunity for me to get this new enhanced CGM and blood glucose system, and West Wind's openness to help me today was OUTSTANDING!Brian, the nursing staff, and the close out personnel were very courteous, and respectful to me each time that I interacted with them!I am giving 5 Stars, because this could be a relatively unfamiliar territory (diabetes/endocrinology) that the clinic has to deal with for diabetics. Especially, Type 1 insulin dependent patients like myself. I have stuck with this facility through my college years, and the assistance continues to this very day. They helped me when I do not have an Endocrinologist in Lubbock for the time being.Cheers to UMC West Wind Family Medicine. Thanks for all the help today Brian Caldwell, and the nursing staff of UMC West Wind Family Medicine clinic!
Had such a great experience here! The doctor and nursing staff were incredibly attentive and made sure I was comfortable. A hassle free UMC clinic. If you’re going to a UMC clinic, come to this one.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
