List of Sagar B. Patel's Reviews
Very knowledgeable and friendly. Would not trust anyone else with my eyes
Minimal wait time. Everyone was knowledgeable & professional.
This "doctor" was inflicted on me at the Livingston facility. I believe I needed an ocular toxicity screening. It was my understanding that my consultation was intended to be with Dr. Richard Fish, but the office switched providers, and told me Dr. Fish wasn't in that office, even though his name is on the door. I decided to make the best of it, because my insurance provided transportation for me to that location and Sagar Patel has a lengthy bio on the web site that insinuates he might know what he is doing. He was so rude and condescending. "I am a RETINA doctor" "I only treat RETINA", he said, very condescending as though implying I had meant perhaps to schedule an appointment with a veterinarian? His own office assigned him to me, I didn't ask for him. "Well that's a front desk problem!" And I was thinking (but did not say), yes, well, "retina" is the root word of "retinopathy". And after a cursory exam, not more than what the optometrist had done, he announced with disgust my retina are healthy, and "he's got nothing for me", and told me to go back to the optometrist to get glasses and eye drops. If that had solved the problem in the first place, I wouldn't have been to an "ophalmologist". During this exam I was made to feel like a hamburger being processed in a fast food assembly and then like I had some audacity to be bothering an ophthamologist with my pesky eyeball complaints. I felt bad for other patients that had trouble with paperwork and couldn't get help. The exam was so cursory and fast, I am not even sure how he arrived at the conclusion that my retina are healthy. I was under the impression that some determination of retinopathy symptoms or ocular toxicity requires more extensive and specialized tests -- I don't know, but isn't he supposed to know that? "I got nothing for you!" is not an adequate explanation of that determination.
Everyone was very friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend this office and Dr Patel. Great office will definitely return if I have any need to.
Dr. Patel and his staff were just what I needed when I needed a retinologist. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained what had happened to my retina quite clearly and kindly. He answered all my questions. Also, he was personally charming and made me feel welcome in his office.
Arrived at the office where I was checked in with ease. A few moments later a tech greeted my wife and I and led us to her exam room. She performed a number of tests and administered and explained the doses of the eye drops we brought with us. She also provided a time schedule for the drops. We were then taken to see Dr Patel who completed his examination. Like the tech before him he took the time to answer all my questions and provided easy to understand answers.
Very Professional and friendly. i love his "bedside manner". He was thorough, gentle and communicated everything he was doing. Great experience.
I have no complaints about my visit with Dr Patel. I got the appointment very quickly and he answered all of my questions.
Dr Patel did a great job explaining my issue and talking to me about it. He answered all my questions clearly and effectively. He took all the time we needed and the office was clear about what we would pay for each procedure. They were on time, kind, and courteous. Very impressed with this office.
I normally see Dr. Major, but he was unavailable. Dr Patel had an opening so I booked an appointment with him. He was great! Thorough, easy to talk to. Very personable

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
