Jason Poteet's Online Review Report Card

Great surgeon.

Want a doctor that cares about you as a human being? Want a doctor that will listen to you? Then DO NOT go to Dr. Jason Poteet. He has no time for that. He is simply to busy. He preformed a lithotripsy and placed a temporary stent after removing a double J stent placed by his colleague the week prior due to a stone blocking. After surgery he told my friend that I was to leave the stent in for 7 days because of the stone being more difficult to get out. That this was needed to keep things open while the swelling went down. That evening when home I quickly found I was without any bladder control. I was completely incontinent. This being my first kidney stone I genuinely had no idea what to expect. I was already exhausted after a full week of pain and feeling so unwell. After little sleep and lots of changing I called the office number which is the Urology Partner answering service at 8am (left a message with my concerns). Without a call back by 10am I called again. By this time I had googled what was happening which said this was a symptom that I should call my doctor with immediately. By noon I called again, I was in tears, asking for guidance or if I should just go to the ER because something was not right. Dr. Poteet’s nurse did come on the line trying to convey genuine concern for my well being. She asked me to go to the local office for a bladder scan. While there the tech took a urine sample and was about to send me home when I asked about the scan. She chuckled and thanked me for reminding her. After telling me my bladder was empty (yup, it’s all in my adult diaper! That’s why I’m here!) she called their Ft Worth office and told them I said I would not leave without answers (yup, I was told to stay put. I can’t help your lack of communication). Later that evening still feeling completely lost I discovered that I could feel the stent outside of my body. I contacted the nurse who asked me to drive to the Ft Worth office to be seen first thing the next morning. Within the five minutes Dr. Poteet spoke with my husband and I (no mask on his face this time) he told me “if you are going to keep calling up here and crying then just take the stent out!” He shared that I would either handle the pain (said to sit in a hot bath) or at worse case he’d have to place another stent and he’d have to leave it in for for a couple weeks. He then offered for his nurse to remove the stent for me.

Great doctor. Took the time to talk to me about my vasectomy. During the produce, he spoke about what he was doing and asked if I was ok or needed anything. His staff is welcoming and friendly.

Dr..Poteet has a great personality, he is patient and listens to all your concerns. He has helped me alot.I am sad to hear he is leaving the temple tex area.

Extremely Thorough

Dr.Poteet takes the time you need also Dr.Poteet removed my cancer stricken kidney and did a excellent job with very little pain

Dr. Poteet has always been courteous and makes me feel at ease. He even asks about my wife at each appointment. Very personable and professional. Clearly explained the TURP procedure he performed on me and I have experienced tremendous success. I have recommended him to several friends.

Excellent doctor. Correctly determined my problem within minutes. Prescribed medicine that relieved my symptoms shortly after taking it. I highly recommend him.
