I had a great experience at Paragon Eye Associates in Mansfield. The staff was friendly, professional, and made the entire process easy and comfortable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for quality eye care!
Very nice facility and friendly staff. No long wait times. Thorough and knowledgeable doctor. I really enjoyed my visit!
Had an appointment and arrived early. Checked in and took a seat. I waited 25 minutes after my appointment time and still was not called. There was only one other person in the waiting room and ladies at desk were chatting it up. I left as staff does not care about your time. This is not the first time that they have not been close to on time with an appointment.
Had an appointment for a routine eye exam. Waited 25 minutes past my appointment time. I was never acknowledged by staff when I signed in or thereafter. Lots of chatter between office staff. I asked how much longer and girl at desk said she did not know. Others with appointment taken back. Poorly run office and very very unfriendly. I will find another doctor as this place does not care about patients and their time.
Dr Alberti answered all questions I was able to understand The staff was very helpful and friendly
Dr. Fontenot is seriously the best! I have been going here for a long time and she has always been such a great doctor. She really cares about you. I’m very appreciative to have an eye doctor like her!
On 5/08/2026, I called the office and left a voicemail requesting to schedule an appointment. I received a callback on 5/11/2026 at 9:28 a.m., and the receptionist informed me that Dr. Baker was unavailable for the next two weeks. She stated that she could scheduled me for the next available appointment, which I was told was on Friday, 5/29 at 9:20 am. When I arrived for my appointment today, I was told there was no appointment scheduled for me and that I could not be seen. Unfortunately for me, it seems the person I spoke with on 5/11 either failed to schedule the appointment. It is incredibly frustrating to spend almost two weeks waiting for an appointment that was never properly scheduled. I took time away from work and traveled to the office, only to arrive and be told there was no record of my appointment. Instead of acknowledging a possible scheduling error or offering an apology, the front desk staff implied that I was responsible for showing up without an appointment because I did not have a text confirmation. I have been a patient at this office for almost 20 years and have always scheduled appointments by phone. In the past, I have never consistently received text confirmations for appointments. After reviewing my emails and text messages, I only found general office notifications regarding closures and holidays or surveys after a visit. Ironically, after leaving the office upset today, I suddenly began receiving appointment reminders and text updates that I had never previously received. To make matters even more confusing, when I called this afternoon to cancel the appointment I had made in person today, I was informed that I actually had two appointments scheduled for next week. One on Wednesday and another on Friday. This leads me to believe that the receptionist who contacted me on 5/11 may have scheduled or provided the incorrect appointment date from the beginning. Also, when I rescheduled the appointment in person, there was never any mention of an appointment scheduled for the following Friday. This entire experience was extremely inconvenient and frustrating. During a previous visit last year, I also experienced an unusually long wait time before being seen. While everyone was apologetic at that time, I am becoming increasingly concerned about the decline in service and organization over the past few years. I have always valued the care Dr. Baker provides and would genuinely like to continue as a patient. I want to clarify that the bad rating is not reflection of my doctor, technicians or other staff, my issue is specifically with the front desk staff and a problem with scheduling and overall communication. After this incident, I have to reconsider if I would return as a patient. Update 6/3: The practice director contacted me, and I very much appreciate their communication and sincere apology. They assured me that the issues I experienced would be addressed and also offered to personally assist with scheduling should I choose to make an appointment in the future. My hope is that if I do return, the front desk and office staff will be more organized and accommodating when concerns or issues arise. I appreciate the effort made to follow up and address my experience from the practice director.
After waiting for a month for an appointment which was made from a referral they tell me they don’t take my insurance they didn’t finish even finish my eye exam and wanted to charge me 295.00 Why is it my fault that they had my information a whole month and didn’t even bother checking before they made my appointment I had to pay my copay and didn’t even get a complete eye exam What kind of business are y’all running?
Dr Blair cataract Lasik surgery on me almost 10 years ago!! The absolute best birthday present I’ve ever given to myself!! I have worn glasses or contacts all my life and I am in my 70s. I love Dr Blair and being able to see without contacts or glasses!!! He made my life so much better and he was an awesome Dr!! I now see Dr. Mark Welding and continue to have fantastic eyesight!! Very very efficient and attentive office I recommended to everyone!!!
I had a very neutral experience and was originally going to give 3 stars. Dropping it down to 2 for headache with ordering contact lenses (see below). In summary: Paragon is inattentive. I requested an appointment online and never heard from anyone. After 2 weeks, I called and left a message requesting an afternoon appointment. They did call me back, and they offered a morning appointment (not a big deal, but it tells me they didn't listen well to my message). The front desk, while very kind, asked me to fill out paperwork I had already completed. The tech never made eye contact, and Dr. Fontenot disappeared while I was putting in contacts without saying goodbye. She also did not address any of the concerns the tech asked me about and recorded. They got me in and out in 30 minutes, but had previously told me to allot an hour and a half for a new patient appointment, and I had hoped for a little more time. I got a new contact lens prescription and ordered online through my insurance. The prescription was written for Acuvue Vita with a BC of 8.6. Acuvue Vita only comes in a BC of 8.4 and 8.8 (does Dr. Fontenot perhaps not know this?). It caused a delay in ordering contacts and I had to call Paragon to request them to fix it. I left a message and also requested they call me back to confirm. They must have updated the prescription because my contact lens order was validated... but they never called me back. So, did I get an exam and new prescriptions? Yes. Did I get good enough personable care to make me feel confident to return? No.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
