Cancer Center Associates's Online Review Report Card

The doctor has run late for every appointment, BUT, that's because he spends so much time with his patients. He allows them to ask questions until they fully understand what's going on. He spends quality time with every patient. He explains everything, he doesn't just tell them their results then walk off, like most doctors. He allows the patient to be part of the decision making for treatment.

Since Dr Khan and Mary left I have not been able to get an appointment. They do not answer calls. My mom is bed ridden and we have tele visits. When I make an appointment they never get on. I hold for hours and no one ever shows up on the call. We have been with them for years and I hate to change but I don’t know what else to do. We had a call with Trudy today for 3:30 and I hung up after 5:00.

Like other reviewers have said, this facility does not run on schedule or return phone calls. I waited 5 hours for my first appointment and 2 hour for the second appointment. Do not waste your time.

Worst office !!! They never return your calls never pick up the calls . they don’t give a single shit about your health ! There is only one doctor available for so many patients they are understaffed and would make you wait until you die ! After Dr Amanullah khan retired and they made this place a money making business that’s all .

Absolutely atrocious office management. We showed up for our appointment 30 minutes early and after 75 minutes of waiting PAST our appointment time, we still hadn’t been seen. The office receptionist acted annoyed when we asked for an eta, like she was inconvenienced somehow.

This review is for Cancer Center Associates. We checked in 30 minutes early for our 10:30 appointment. It is now 11:42 and we still haven’t been seen. They told us they’re waiting on an open room, but this is absolutely ridiculous. They have a sign that reads “if you’ve been waiting longer than 20 minutes, let us know” which is interesting. This is poor office management.

They never return calls or messages… I have been trying to get my iron infusion from them for months with no success. I know for a fact they don’t care about me or my health and I am just a number to them

Since Dr. Khan and Mary have retired, this place has gone downhill. Every time I am there it is at least 3hrs. I am there to check my iron levels. I ask them what time is the best time that I don't have to wait for 3hrs! It's a joke.

After visiting Texas Oncology and being dismissed by one of the doctors who claimed I had no issues with my blood, I was desperate for help. I was experiencing extreme fatigue and other symptoms of iron deficiency. Fortunately, I was seen by Dr. Chowdary and his team, and one word sums up my experience – EXCEPTIONAL! I initially met with Nurse Practitioner Lynn, who was incredibly thorough. Her investigative questioning is phenomenal! Lynn excels at listening to symptoms and recording essential details. Her bedside manner is incredible. Noticing my tired and fatigued appearance, she diligently asked investigative questions to eliminate other possibilities. Later, I spoke with Dr. Chowdary, who mirrored Lynn's thoroughness. He is an excellent listener and an expert in symptomatology. Dr. Chowdary was caring, non-dismissive, and asked numerous questions to rule out any potential symptoms. They ordered a comprehensive blood panel, revealing extremely and dangerously low iron levels as the cause of my symptoms. Within five days of my intial visit and waiting for labs to arrive, I received an iron infusion. The team administering the infusions in the back was super nice, professional, and explained everything well. I am grateful for all of them! After just one infusion, I feel so much better and am looking forward to my next and final infusion next week. True super hero's and rockstars here!

Zero isn't possible. Dr. Chowdry insisted my period had to be too heavy for me to be anemic. Both my regular GP & new dr (tx oncology is much nicer) went over my cycle with me and confirmed that mine are not heavy. He also insisted I needed an endocrinologist bc my thyroid medication was low. He wouldn't let me explain that I had lowered that only 2 weeks prior due to my symptoms fitting with being over medicated. My GP does a fine job and I don't need an endo. I just went back to my previous dose since that doesn't seem to be the cause of my symptoms. He started to explain that hypo meant I would gain weight (I had actually suddenly lost a bunch & that's why I was there in part) I did interrupt and tell him that I knew all the symptoms. He got mad and said why was I talking to him, if I'm already a doctor, paraphrased. I responded that I had been dealing with it for over a decade. He didn't calm down. I told him to call me if he did and hung up without even getting to the serious information. By the way - you should always lead with the serious stuff. I was extremely nervous and just trying to hold back tears, I'm there to find out if I have cancer again. Tell me that result first. I called the office and asked for the office manager to call me about the issue. I've given multiple calls and they refuse to return it. AVOID at all costs I've never left such a review and earnestly tried talking to them first. I guess the next thing to file a complaint with the medical board.
