List of Southwest Allergy & Asthma Center - Mckinney's Reviews
The reviews are correct, they are unwilling to work with you and give no grace. I was 15 minutes late due to morning traffic and I have been waiting to have this appointment and I needed this appointment and they turned me away. There’s no notification when booking the appointment about a grace period. The receptionist went to ask the PA if I could still be seen and she declined, no empathy. No regard for my long drive and trip in traffic. Office was empty. Sat here for 30 minutes. Still no one.
I just had an annual follow up visit. I was told they want me to use a new pharmacy so the topical medications for can be pre-mixed. This is something they previously gave me the instructions to because it was a very simple process. I was also told by the P.A., Madiha Hussain, whom I just met and spoke to for about 10 minutes, she didn't think the medications were correct. Although I explained to her I was only using as needed and the medications worked, she basically ignored my comments. These are the same medications I've been using only as needed for 2+ years with no issues, and they work sufficiently. She also mentioned they were to strong so she wasn't comfortable prescribing them.

This gives the appearance SWAAC wants to stop prescribing me the medications that have proven to work for me, just so I will be forced to schedule more visits and they can earn more profits.

I knew Dr Van Wagoner many years ago and trusted his office to do the right thing. I will no longer use any of their offices and find a new provider.
My whole family has been using this practice, primarily my son. Everything was perfect, not sure what’s going on but everything is awful now. I can’t get anyone to call me, I get sent to voicemail constantly. I leave messages and no response. My son is on a biologic that he needed for this month of August & he’s going to have to go without. We’re moving to another practice as I’m fed up.
Update 8/22: On 8/20 I called the Allen location because at this point it's been 3 weeks and the McKinney location has not returned my calls. The girl who answered was nice and she had Andres call me later. I spoke to Andres about this horrible experience. I inquired why in 3 weeks and 4 voicemails not one person reached out to schedule my son to be seen. He gave me the reason that they are busy and backed up with calls. An unacceptable excuse. To tell me that for 3 weeks not one person was able to call me back. If they are backed up on calling patients back for 3+ weeks, then they have a more serious issue. It is never acceptable to not return a patients call or to get them in to be seen. My son's epi pen was expiring and they didn't care. They wouldn't even issue me a new pen without my son being seen even thought this was all completely their fault. This is the worse facility with the worst staff. I will never recommend anyone to this place. Update: I've left a few more messages to this center and still NO call back. I even called the number Andres provided on my original review and no answer. It doesn't ring. This facility should be under investigation on how they are treating existing clients. My son is a current patient here. I have been trying to schedule an appointment for him to be seen to get his school form signed and new epi pen prescription and no one has been answering or returning my voicemails to get me in. I left 2 voicemails and have been calling different hours of the day and no one in the office answers. This has been a horrible experience to where I'm now looking to transfer him to another allergist.

PLEASE READ all the most recent one star review, if there is a 0 I belive we all going to go with zero. I am extremely disappointed and concerned with the care provided by this office. Without running any tests, without speaking to me, and without any medical justification, they added a serious diagnosis to my daughter’s medical record. A condition that she’s never been evaluated for, never shown symptoms of, and that no one even bothered to tell me about. I only found out by chance while reviewing her records.

When I contacted the office to address this, No explanation, no apology, nothing — just a disturbing unwillingness to take responsibility for their mistake, despite the fact that no tests or evaluations had been done to support such a diagnosis. This is not only medically irresponsible, but also deeply unethical.

Accurate medical documentation is critical, especially for a child. This is a complete breach of trust and medical ethics. What happened here could have serious consequences for future care, insurance, and her overall wellbeing. No one should have to second-guess their child’s medical records or fight to have false information removed. If this is how they handle something this serious, I would strongly urge other parents to think twice before trusting this office with your child’s care.
I am trying to get my shot serum shipped to my college, and I have tried calling multiple times yet I always get sent to voicemail.
UPDATE for Southwest Allergy & Asthma in McKinney, TX--
We had an appointment scheduled today at 11:40am, June 23,25 for my daughter, Paxtyn, it had been scheduled months ago. with Melissa Garcia PA-C, for her check up and to refill her allergy medications. She has year round allergies and is allergic to so many things. We left our house in Gunter, TX an hour before our appt time, ran into traffic and several construction zones, which were at a standstill at times and were unable to get to the Southwest Allergy at 11:40am, it was now 11:50 am, as we were just about to turn into the parking lot, the receptionist called and we told her we were about to turn in, she said ok. As we went inside, greeted by receptionist, apologized for the delay and explained how we left Gunter an hour earlier and between traffic and several Construction slow downs and stops, we had finally made it an hour later drive and again said sorry we were running late, she was nice and gave us 3 pages of paperwork to sign hi-lighted areas and then said she would let them know we were there. we sat down and about 5 minutes later, the receptionist called us back to the counter and told us that she had spoken to Tracy and due to us being late, we had to reschedule the Appt, I was not very happy, we could have been told when the call was made that they wouldn't allow us to keep our appt, and then she spoke to Tracy Coe again, asking if we could at least get her allergy meds refilled until we could reschedule? Tracy Coe said no, we would have to wait for another appt. My daughter has sever allergies and takes these pills daily. Again not at all happy with this response. We have never had this issue at Southwest Allergy & Asthma in McKinney. I also was not happy to find out our appt now has a new PA-C. We were never notified that Melissa Garcia had left the practice. And we are there every 2 weeks for her allergy shots. And this practice didn't think it important enough let us know we would have a new PA-C, named Tracy Coe for my daughter's allergy appointment. I know there has been several appts that we have sat in the waiting room 5, 10 and one time even 20 minutes waiting to be seen for our appointment. But if you are 10 minutes late, and they even call you and then you fill out your paperwork and sit there 5 minutes, Tracy Coe tells the receptionist to tell you, I'm sorry you will not be seen for even being a minute late?! No thank you, Tracy Coe, I don't appreciate your hospitality, I will take my business to another location. Thank you for not extending grace, and I hope someday you will need grace as well, and hopefully you will get it.
I wish I could give a negative rating for my overall experience.
Very attentive and thorough visit to address my seasonal allergy concerns.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
