Warthan Dermatology Center's Online Review Report Card

$375 for a visit UP front without insurance, no matter how long the visit is or what it is for. I just paid $375 to wait for 15 minutes, then to be told that a Cyst Drainage (not even surgery) would be $1600-$3000. Something that could have been told over the phone(which I did call before hand). My entire interaction with ANY doctor or specialist lasted less than 10 minutes. Listen to the reviews!! Not worth it. Very disappointed. Very Shady office building as well.

I went to Warthan Dermatology to get checked out for a skin discoloration in my leg. I was told that they have to do a biopsy, and my out of pocket cost is $40. I agreed to paying the $40 and they went ahead and did I the biopsy. When I was done and it was time to check out, I was told that I have to pay $112.52 instead of $40. I told the receptionist that I was told it would be $40, she said they gave me the wrong code and that I have to pay $112.52 or they would add penalties on top of that if I don’t pay. How is it my fault that they gave me the wrong code, it’s not like I could have changed my mind, I didn’t have a choice at that point, the procedure was already done. I feel like they should have honored the $40 total since it was their mistake, it wasn’t right to make me pay almost triple the amount that we agreed on.

I was blown away by the unprofessionalism and total lack of customer service. I guess I was a bother by checking in for my appointment with the front desk bc I interrupted her watching a show on her phone. Then I was handed 10 pages of paper work to fill out. They gave me a whole 15 seconds to complete them before calling me back where I had to finish them while trying to speak to the medical assistant. I have insurance but it does not cover dermatology visits. It was $375 just to walk in the door. I was there for some concerning potential skin cancer spots. The PA looked me over and offered to freeze two spots on my nose. The PA, her medical assistant, the two front desk ladies were all aware I was cash pay. They gave me a quote with their prize sheet of $94 to freeze the spots. I checked out and paid the $94 and left. I then received a voicemail that “I had a remaining balance of an additional $120 and they went ahead and charged my card of file” with ZERO verbal consent from me and ZERO explanation of what this remaining balance was. I called back immediately way before 5pm and they had turned their phones off to automated voicemail. I left a voicemail to please call me back to explain and never got a call. I had to call again the next day, the front desk said I was bc I had no insurance even though everyone in the office was already aware of that and gave me the quote of $94, she said they would have a manager call me and I still have not gotten a call. Also, one of the spots the PA froze, she missed half the spot and the concerning spot is still there beside this huge blister now. I was excited to go to Warthan, I thought they were going to be a good trustworthy place, I was nervous because I have had skin cancer spots removed in the past, I am also pregnant, so I thought I was choosing the best place to get checked. I was so very wrong. Still waiting on a call.
