Two weeks ago, I was cleared for physical therapy by my surgeon and a referral was put in for them to evaluate me. A week ago, I started calling in an attempt to get the process started, because they never contacted me. After several days of phone tag and being told my insurance was the problem, I was told they would call me at 11:30 Monday (yesterday) to schedule my initial consult. No one called, so I called them. As usual, there was no answer at the referral number, and I was prompted to leave a message. Frustrated, I called a local independent physical therapy group (Kinetic in Gilmer). I sent them my orders and insurance information, and they called me at 8 a.m. the very next day (today) with an appointment. So obviously it wasn't my insurance holding up the process, but just typical lack of patient care which is par for the course in my experience with every element of UT Pittsburg.

Great facilities. Hours of operation are back to pre-covid. Update 15Apr23: Effective 1May, hours are 8-5 M-F (except for the Tyler location which is expanding their hours) So, if you work for a living, UTHealth isn't going to be an option, unless you live near Tyler. Cutting costs by cutting service to people in outlying areas. You can't make this stuff up.
