I just love Dr. Akapama. I showed up to his office when desperate, exhausted ready to give up on life. He listened, believed me, understood my needs and came up with the best, fastest plan possible. I had Gastric sleeve, healed well, couldn’t be any happier. Thank you very much my Doctor!!! Follow up visits are awesome? Great stuff and his office environment is like no other. If you decide to be a cash patient, he has no hidden fees. A real doctor who understands real people. If I could do it all over again, I would use Dr. Akapama chukwuma!

Dr. Apakama is a very professional surgeon who explains every step thoroughly. My husband needed a cholecystectomy relatively quickly; His office staff was very professional and they got the referral through my insurance company in just 2 days. My husband was able to have his much needed surgery in a few days. The surgery went very well and Dr. Apakama came out to the waiting area and explained everything to me. I am very please with him and his office staff. I would definitely recommend him to anyone needing general surgery.

I had a duodenal switch back in September 2018, performed by another surgeon at the office Dr Apakama was practicing at during this time. No issues with this surgery. Dr Apakama saw me shortly after my surgery at one of my follow up appointments. I felt an instant connection and feeling of comfort with him. Since that appointment I always scheduled my appointments with him and followed him to his own practice. Dr Apakama spends the necessary time with me, he listens to me, be it a concern with my weight loss, or any other concern I may have, and not always specific to health. He genuinely cares for his patients, and takes an interest in their health and overall life and how they are progressing with their health. Had I seen him back in 2018 to prepare for my surgery, I would have felt 100% comfortable with him performing my surgery also. I am fortunate to have met Dr Apakama. In addition, Dr Apakama's staff is very helpful and has always been very professional.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Apakama when I was first in the hospital for gallbladder issues. Since then I have been working with him on weight loss in preparation for eventual surgery. This is one of the most kindest but honest doctors I have ever met. He doesn’t sugar coat things which is what I need and will help you with the tools for success. You truly have an advocate on your behalf and wants you to succeed. If I could have him for all of my other doctors I would.

Dr. Apakama and his team are phenomenal. From day 1 everything has been exceptional. Dr. A takes the time out to explain throughly what is about to happen to your body. He breaks everything down so well that a child would understand. I had the Duodenal Switch in Nov. This has by far been the best experience I have had with surgery. My recovery has been nothing short of A+. Dr Apakama has a comforting and warm demeanor, which you rarely find in a physician. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and he cares for his patients.
