All my research showed that I needed to see a PM&R doctor for the possibility of having hypermobility syndrome. Dr. Dauber did not know anything about it, did not know how to test for it nor did he know of any other doctors in the area that he could refer me to. So he referred me to the PM&R department at UT Southwestern Medical Center which was fine and understandable. I called them and they do in fact have one doctor that specializes in hypermobility syndrome, but I needed a referral from the doctor in order to see him. I called Dr. Dauber‘s office back to get that referral since he referred them to me in the first place and they refused to give it to me. They said because they weren’t treating me for it, they couldn’t refer me. Quite confusing on why you would refer me to a place and then not send a referral so that I could actually get into that place. Very disappointing. I’ve now had to make an additional appointment with my PC doctor, who by the way did not test me for hypermobility nor is he treating me for it, just to get a referral.

I give him 2 stars due to not taking responsibility of looking over your chart (especially at what medications you are already taking). He gave detailed instructions on how to heal (which was great) but his recovery was something I can not do at work. When asking for a work note he refused. Yet his recovery method is something I can not do at work. Also he is not a surgeon. He is primarily a pain reliever. I did not want to see a pain reliever, I already have one. I was told he was a surgeon when the appointment was created. He is not. For wanting to see a surgeon this was a waste of time and money.

Unbelievably unprofessional. My mother went in for an MRI review and was told she had a fractured sacrum and a tumor. Instead of helping, he told her to “cross her fingers” for another doctor and accused her of abusing her meds — even though she hadn’t. We went to the ER right after, and she was rushed by ambulance to a hospital for emergency care. Avoid this doctor.
