BEWARE!If you love your family any amount at all? You need to steer clear of The Legacy Willow Bend.I stayed there a few weeks back and was abused physically and neglected medically. The care givers withheld my medication from me and did not allow me to get my pain medicine for days. They lied and told me the Dr discontinued my normal prescriptions of meds. They withheld from me any help to be able to go the bathroom and had me sit in soiled sheets. After which, did not change sheets in the proper time. The administration tried to cover up the abuse and did not have any concern for the matters that was brought to their attention. The head administrators said they would look into my abuse and neglect, and to this day, I still have not had a phone call nor any communication to their findings. They flat out just don’t care!I had to be admitted a second time, in which will be LAST to this facility. Because apparently they’re not employees and now have hired some outside agency who staffs the place. Not good! The new staff is highly incompetent and WILL NOT have your best interest. They did not come to check on me, until I pushed the button and had to yell for hours. The night was the worst, since your family members are not allowed to be the room past 8. So the neglect and abuse was at the highest. I would hear other older patients in other rooms screaming for help. Very sad!I gave this place a 1 star because they don’t allow O stars!!!I will forgive them because I love Jesus! However, that does not mean they should not be held accountable, nor should they be in business treating ANYONE, much less those of us who can’t fend for ourselves the way they did.The administration is the ones who perpetrated the abuse by turning a blind eye to it all, and doing nothing about it. I guess someone will have to die before they do.I hope I can save at least 1 of your loved ones lives by this review.
My husband got very mediocre care here.He had a fall and was rushed to the hospital before notifying me. The aides could be harsh. He was very unhappy at this facility.
Well kept buildings & grounds. Standard treatment of patients in healthcare building. It may be “non profit” but focus is clearly about $ & optics. Management style is intimidation & it trickles down to patient care. Very difficult place to work.
Pretty on the outside... and you know the rest!I waited until now to finish this post as I didn’t want my mom to suffer the repercussions. The ED Laura and the admin/ Amanda couldn’t care less about the patients needs. It’s all about the money! The poor manage trickles all the way down. They are constantly short staffed to save a buck. This place is very expensive, but the money definitely doesn’t go towards hiring or keeping good aids or nurses.
I have been here for 12 days due to having a fall seven weeks ago. After surgery I had two pins inserted but surgeon did say that if pain became worse then I should consider a hip replacement.I am leaving here today for an appointment with him shortly. After surgery and some days I’m hospital I will come back here for a few weeks. Everyone here is very caring and professional and I get my medications when I should and when I ask for help don’t have to wait long. Due to Covid19 no-one here can have visitors which has been hard but not the fault of the facility.Would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking of coming here. I am in the skilled nursing section so can’t comment on the Memory Care or the long term section.
This review is for the independent living. In my opinion this place used to be very nice. Now due to Covid it's become a "prison". One would think its for safety reasons but it's not at this point. They site Dallas County Covid stats yet this place is deep within Collin County. The employees come and go at will yet they won't let the residents do the same. The food is the same boring meals meals every night. They won't allow meals in the dining room any more "because that could spread Covid" --- well if nobody is allowed in or out how could that happen? When the dining room was functional the staff has constant turnover because they don't pay them enough. The funny thing is this place is expensive enough to have nothing but the best. After seeing how things run and a little bit of research its my opinion that their liability insurance doesn't insure this pandemic and that is guiding and motivating every decision.
After having a relationship for 5+ years with this company on both the patient side, and the staff side, I feel that I am qualified to give an honest review of The Legacy. My relationship with The Legacy started in 2015 when I had one of my staff members family members living in assisted living. Safety of staff and residents is something that I saw with this persons family member. When it became unsafe for this family member to be in assisted living, the staff at The Legacy met with my staff member to make sure the best we done for my staff members family member. The decision was to move this family member to skilled. During the next few years, anything that could be any kind of problem, or change in status of the family member was communicated to my staff member, 24 hours a day. When the end of life of my staff members family member was near, the communication increased. I have never seen such compassion from a long term care facility (I have worked in long term care for almost 10 years). As for the staffing side, I see how this place operates, and patient care and comfort is the top priority, I don't think I have seen people move so fast when something comes up that needs to be handled. This location has at least one deficency free survey from state regulators, that is an extremely hard feat to do for any facility that deals with seniors. It is a very thorough process and days long, meaning the state is in the building going over records, all records, and monitoring staff for mistakes. In the end, working in long term senior care for almost 10 years (as stated above), seeing what happens at other long term care facilities across the nation, I wouldn't think twice about having one of my own family members being admitted here, nor would I have to wonder if everything is being communicated to me, as I have seen that first hand.Edit: I am not a staff member of The Legacy, I simply know people who are.
Rose Marie Switzer4/25/1935 - 12/20/2018Do not, ever, send anyone here - ever. Period.12/14/2018 @ Approx 3PM she arrived at this facility, on Oxygen. I stayed for 3ish hours to make sure she was settled, to finally go home after living at Baylor Hospital for 2 weeks. I told staff for her to be on Oxygen because at one point her Oxygen was disconnected from her room after the dinner gathering (I even remember speaking to nurses about the 2-3 units shift), after I had left the facility and seen her with it at around 6:30. I arrive the next morning around 6:45AM to see her in the dining hall for breakfast, in a catatonic state, without her oxygen. I was still half asleep, and it shattered me to the core to see her state, it didn't dawn on me then, or my friend who was with me. We were barely awake and running late. I told the nursing staff about her state and said we would return in a few hours, which we did. When we did, she was sitting in a wheelchair, in the hall, drooling on her shoulder slumped over. As nurses and other patients walked by. It was around 10AM, this is when it dawned on me.Me, "WHERE THE REDACTED IS HER OXYGEN?!"Random nurse, "She's on Oxygen?!?!"They tried to point the finger immediately, at Baylor, saying it wasn't on the Discharge Paperwork (it is, as well as the EMT Transfer work).Rose ceased to exist that morning, though there was never a diagnosis (slimy on-site-doctor tried to steer me away, went "CYA Mode" immediately) she irrefutably suffered Hypoxic Brain Damage... Her O2 was in the 50's for probably over 12hours.She died in Hospice on the 20th, we got her out of Legacy asap, they wouldn't release her saying it was "Too Risky". She was at Legacy for just a few days, and in the first 24 hours they deleted an angel from this earth.Do not, under any circumstance send loved ones to this place. Do not.Don't let the outside shine, pretty flowers, and big black fence/gate fool you. This place is everything wrong with senior care in this country.
I just called up there because they have a part-time job available all I needed was the hours and all I was told is apply online it’s a simple question. Got hung up on after I had called and got hung up on before she even answered the phone🙄
Awesome staff and facility. You would be lucky to get your loved one placed here. Everyone is so nice. Clean facility. Secure check in/ out peocedures. Even got mom’ s hair done while there. Made her feel better!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
