John Zavala's Online Review Report Card

I went to appointment and Dr. offered nothing. I asked for exercises or stretches, but didn't even receive that. I also called and left a message with office for the same but received no call back. I hope the Dr. is ok. He speaks as if he drinks 100 cups of coffee for breakfast.

I am writing this review because I see all of these low review scores for Dr. Zavala and my experience with him was amazing. Dr. Zavala did emergency surgery on my ankle after I had broken it in 3 places. He was so kind and compassionate and helped to calm the fears I had at the time because I had never broken a bone in my life. The surgery he performed was amazing! I am 7 years post op and the scar lines are very minimal and with time my ankle went almost back to normal. I have a plate and 8 pins holding everything together in there. I highly recommend him to everyone I know who has any knee or leg issues.

Doctor and staff are excellent. There is a bit of a wait sometimes, but the office is always busy because the physicians are good. My only complaint is that sometimes when you call the answering service answers and they're extremely nosey. They ask questions they couldn't possibly need the answers to in order to tell someone you need a call back.

Doctor is ok but the way the office is run is beyond frustrating. Even if you arrive early, you will wait at least 45 minutes to be shown back.

I cannot recommend this doctor. Seemed uninterested in what my issues were. Seemed pretty dismissive and didn't even suggest anything to alleviate severe knee pain. Finally was able to get a cortisone shot after asking the doctor. Never got a cortisone shot and had to ask what was going to happen, how soon would feel relief, etc. Very rushed appointment.

My wife had knee replacement on her right leg in 2013, she has severe pain and cannot bend her knee more than 45 degrees. We complained to him and made several trips to his office, we never got any improvement. He finally gave up and said we should see another doctor. She has been to a pain doctor, a nerve doctor, and several orthopedics hoping to get answers. No one is able to offer solution. Her knee feels hot to the touch but her lower leg is cold. We would never advise anyone to go to this doctor, he abandoned my wife and left her to fend for herself!! Tom & Roxy madison

I found Dr. Zavala after my cousin had had a really good experience with him. I took her to her last appointment and met him. I’m impressed with his knowledge and confidence, and he did a fantastic repair of my right rotator cuff. His willingness to explain my questions thoroughly is what I love about him most. He gained my trust, and I’m tough on doctors. He was appropriate with my pain management. Honestly, I can’t say enough good. After my left shoulder was injured in a recent MVA, I went straight to Dr. Zavala. He’s my man now. And that. Is. That. Staff has been great, too! No complaints.

I like both the front staff and p.a. This is an amazing collection of doctors. I have been extremely pleased by their thoroughness, their diagnoses, and their bedside manner. If you’re going to break a bone or you’re a sports enthusiast who needs great advice, contact these people. People you can trust.

His receptionist keeps calling me three minutes before my appointment to tell me he’s in surgery. I’m in a lot of pain; it’s horrible to drive to his office and back home. I’m looking for help, not a hassle. Hopes gone wrong on this one.

I had 2 different procedures with Dr Zavala. He works well with people that have ADHD! Hard to fine Doctors Like that. Not to mention his Get bedside MANNERS OUTSTANDING!!! His staff, PA, to the rehabilitation staff are OUT STANDING Too!! I really appreciate how they always answered my question. Nicely!!!!
