Theodore A Belanger's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Theodore Belanger may be a great doctor but has the wrong people working for him. I've yet to hear from him regarding the MRI he ordered. My original doc office visit was 12/9/21. I never was scheduled an appt by the facility he sent the orders to, so I scheduled my own appt to a different facility and was able to get my scans done within 4 days which was on 12/27/21. I released the scans to his office same day they were done. I think his office staff is lazy. I'm going to date/time this review and will update as soon as I hear from them. (10:30 am-Jan 12, 2022) Currently in search of a different orthopedic physician.UPDATE Tues 1/18/22. NO CHANGES to this post although I was contacted by office mgr. Still don't have any diagnosis from the 2 x-rays they took on 12/9/21 nor the MRI they requested. My assumption is it's too difficult for them to request the MRI results from the provider. Doctors forget they work for the patient, not the other way around. Lazy staff.

The only thing I left with was a bill. No diagnosis, treatment, correction, prescription or counsel.

After seeing Dr Belanger I did not go well. I had an issue in my spine that was not expected but showed on an MRI. I ended up getting a biopsy that caused me to not be able to walk or drive for 9 days. Since Dr Belanger felt my scoliosis was not treatable by surgery he did not have any other interest in helping me. He was egotistical and assuming I was wanting surgery when I did not, nor would I have allowed him to do any surgery on me. He never discussed it with me, he assumed and I know this only by the chart notes. He is dismissive if he can't figure something out and patient blames. After explaining the pain was causing me to become depressed he literally blamed it all on depression. It is not depression that caused my scoliosis and discitis. It was disgusting to listen to him. He is not what I consider a decent Dr and in good conscious would never recommend him. I was never offered Pain Management- the very reason for going. It was a terrible experience and such a waste of time.

Working with Dr. Belanger was a wonderful experience. He explained my condition (bone spur and cyst in lumber spine) and what was necessary to correct it. I am now two weeks post-op and feel great. I highly recommend him. His office staff is very helpful and professional.

Great doctor did my neck surgery. I would reccomend to anyone needing help.

Dr. Bellanger is an amazing doctor. He did my surgery and I am much better. His front office staff does talk bad about the pts as you'er sitting in the waiting room every time I'm there but he and Jennifer are great!

I was referred to Dr. Belanger by my physician to get a second opinion on a possible future surgery. The appointment I had was a video appointment. To my surprise, the appointment turned out to be with the Physicians Assistant and not the doctor. After several minutes of speaking with the PA, who was very unknowledgeable about my case, I had to insist on speaking with the doctor of whom my appointment was supposed to be with. When the doctor did come in to speak with me, it was very obvious he had not reviewed any of my medical records and was also very unknowledgeable about my case. The option I sought was very disappointing and very lacking. I would not recommend this doctor at all.

From the moment I met with Dr Balenger I felt at ease. He is very professional and knowledgeable. He spent 40 minutes with my husband and explained how he could correct my problems. When someone is working on your spine and nerves you want the best and I felt like we had him. It has been six weeks since my surgery and I am very pleased. My problems were not an easy fix but Dr Balenger did a great job! I am so thankful for him.You must admire a man who spends time in Africa each year working on the most difficult cases.

My 96 year old grandfather was admitted to the ICU/Trauma facility at Medical City Plano after a bull on our ranch attacked him. He had 2 vertebrae fractured in his neck. Miraculously, he had no nerve damage or any other broken bones. But I wanted to take a moment to commend all the staff in the ICU. The nurses, Kayla, Jennifer, Christian, Hayley, and all the others (sorry I can't remember everyones name) were incredibly attentive, and took the absolute BEST care of my grandfather. They went above and beyond in EVERY SINGLE regard to make sure he was safe and comfortable. Dr. Belanger performed the surgery and he was phenomenal. The surgery was done flawlessly. Actually, All the staff said he was the best and he was. He called me both before and after the surgery. (Because of Covid of course) Grandaddy was home from the hospital within a few days! I truly could not have asked for better care than the teams who cared for him. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

LOVE THIS DOCTOR. He answered questions I haven’t gotten any other doctor to answer for me. Thorough, nice, spent time with me and gave me all the pros and cons on a surgery I need. He put NO pressure on me to have surgery. Best back doctor I’ve been to EVER.
