Melissa Renee Valdez Md's Online Review Report Card

I haven't seen her recently but she was always helpful and kind. She's very knowledgeable and I appreciated her through discussions. I will see her again in the very near future. Looking forward to it.

I started seeing Dr. Melissa Valdez in late 2014 or early 2015 when my doctor at the time quit ALL of her patients, seemingly out of the blue. Despite the fact that Dr. Valdez had a full case load of her own, she still managed to make time for me and many of the other patients of the aforementioned doctor. I can tell that Dr. Valdez is a very busy provider, but she always listens to me and addresses my concerns. It is not uncommon for her appointments to run a little late, but I don't mind, because I know that at times in the past I was the patient whose needs required a little more time and attention than normal. I can tell that Dr. Valdez really does care, she always asks for my input as it pertains to my plan of care moving forward so that it will fit into my home/work/social life.

It took several unnecessary appointments to finally be able to see Dr. Valdez, but once I did she was great. I feel comfortable talking with her. She took the time to understand my condition and my history of treatment. She always gives me time to ask questions and she gives thorough answers. She is incredibly busy and there can be a bit of a wait when you show up for your appointment. However, in my opinion, she's worth the wait.

Changes treatment plans with no discussion with patients resulting in uncertainty and panic in patients with extreme anxiety. Does a disservice to all involved. She is stretched way too thin as the director of Lone Star Circle of care. They need to hire an additional psychiatrist to ease the workload. Sadly, low income patients are at the mercy of this system since there aren’t any other similar practices that offer low income psychiatry services. Sub-par car is on the menu here.

Dr Valdez is the worst Dr i have ever had. She is always late for my appointments. It is custom to show up 15 min early to appointments, but every single time I have to wait any where from and hour to two! Then when she finally calls me in there is no eye contact, she doesn't listen and she practically pushes me out the door. I have never had a session longer than 5 min. She does not care about her patients needs or time. How this woman was able to become a behavioral health Dr is beyond me.

Had a scheduled appointment for over month and half. Went to appointment and was 20 minutes early. Waited an hour and 20 minutes. Then was called into her office. Very rude. Told us she didn’t have time to see my daughter yet was willing to see appointments that were scheduled after ours! When I asked why we were being skipped she said that we needed to leave the office or be escorted out by security. In the mean time dr valdez called back patient that had appointment an hour after ours.

I would never recommend Dr Valdez. I have to wait on hold for at least 20-30 minutes to even talk anyone when I call. Every time. Scheduled appointments are often 'lost' and I have to wait over an hour to be seen. Once when I complained that I have been waiting over an hour, Dr Valdez called me into her office and was condescending, unprofessional, rude and was overall a pretty ugly human being to me. And this is after years of being her patient. HORRIBLE doctor. HORRIBLE customer service.

Dr. Valdez is easy to talk to, even about the things I would rather not talk about. I have found Dr Valdez and her staff to be very thorough in helping to properly diagnose and treat me (not an easy task). I have not felt - as I have with many other doctors - that I had been diagnosed with prescriptions ready before they actually speak with me. It is scary and frustrating to not know what is wrong with you. I have a much brighter and positive outlook after beginning treatment with Dr Valdez. Her staff is way Fanfabulous!! - always friendly and professional - all around positive atmosphere there. THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU!!

She is not a good listener. Does not take the time to listen.
