Alejandro Pruitt's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Pruitt perforated my colon and worst of all, he did not clamp it. He was supposed to remove a large polyp and instead he made me go through the most excruciating pain I’ve ever experienced. This happened during the Covid 19 pandemic, when all the hospitals were overwhelmed with cases, because of this I was left poisoning my body for over 5 hours, since all the ERs had no beds available anywhere in San Antonio. I was left enduring he worst pain that can be experienced. I required a week in the hospital and an incision over 20” long covering my entire abdomen, plus an ileostomy bag since I no longer had the function of my colon. He not once checked up on me or tried to see what the final outcome had been.

Dr Pruitt is a caring professional. He has been my Dr for several years. I can’t imagine nor would I consider any other dr for my health care needs. The trust and assurance he gives is priceless and rare. Thank you Dr Pruitt for your kindness, your professionalism and your skill. I am so thankful my ongoing care is in your capable hands. Good and efficient service by Dr. Pruitt and all his staff. I just wish I could have a little longer with Dr. Pruitt so he could have explain to me his finding in a little more detail.

They were very friendly and caring

I just saw Dr. Pruitt today. I was glad I finally was able to see him after a 2 month wait. He was empathetic and showed a real interest in helping me resolve my constant stomach pain and whatever was causing them. I was impressed by his desire to have me tested immediately for my continued stomach issues. He was concerned that this could be something major. I was all set to come in tomorrow, Aug 3, to complete an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy. That was until I got a call from the "Billing Department". Since my Insurance Deductible isn't met, they want to charge me almost $2K for these 2 tests, and associated procedures. A bitter pill, but I was going to swallow it. But since the Billing Department wants a Payment, up front, I cannot complete this appointment. I have not been working for almost 3 weeks now, thus, no paycheck, thus, no money to pay bills...etc. I was always under the impression, that a Doctor wants his Patient's Health to come first, but in this case, it seems this isn't the case. I know, not "their problem", right. So now, I have to return to work, to earn $500 to pay these people before I can actually feel better enough to perform at 100% at work. Something is Majorly wrong with this picture. Seriously. Thanks everyone.

From the start I was treated well and provided with good instructions and guidance of what was to come. At the end, I was treated well and monitored very kindly. Doctor and staff took the time to explain what happened and to the results. Thank you to the Doctor and staff who made my experience a good one. Kudos to you all!
