Superb physician. Overall great experience. Dr. Person is an modern Marcus Welby, but as a surgical specialist. Very personable, patient with my numerous questions, thorough in his exam. My wrist required a steroid injection; this was the third I've had, and his technique carried half the discomfort of the previous ones. Excellent response. Office staff was courteous, efficient, and patiently understanding of my confusion with insurance issues. A great practice. 2/8/2023 Another exceedingly pleasing encounter with this very fine physician. As before, he listened carefully, at length because I'm verbose, then asked pointed questions and performed a thorough examination. I then received a nearly painless injection. Wait time was negligible, and office staff very pleasant and professional. This is a doctor
Dr. Person is one of those rare physicians who has the ability to make it seem as if he has all the time in the world to talk to his patients. Despite a schedule which must be busy, he never seems rushed or impatient. He is very clear in his explanations and also very open. In addition to that, he is an excellent surgeon, who is very meticulous and experienced. I would recommend him without hesitation.
Very disappointed with the care our son received Dr. Person did not seem to care at all. We spent more time woth intern doctor then him. Had I not trust my gut and get second opinion my son could have ended with a bad infection and more problems. Part of Stitches were left in my son’s thumb. But really got to me is how Dr. Person told my son see you in a month good luck hope it heals. When my son should have been followed a lot closer. New doctor had to pull my son’s nail off because of Dr. Person’s negligence and ignoring my son’s pain. We will never return to this office again and will not recommend this office to anyone.
I saw Dr Person at the Hand Clinic, after the doctor I had been seeing relocated to Houston. It was a great expirence. Dr Person listened to my concerns regarding thumb and wrist and gave me several injections. Dr Person is very personable, friendly and has a nice touch on the injections. Highly recommend him. Dr Person is helping me an aging first responder stay in the fight a little longer. He also had an impressive military career.
Dr Person has done surgery on me which was excellent; however, my daughter is a veteran who contracted a serious infection after hand surgery at Audie Murphy VA Hospital. As a result she has a severely disfigured finger. The VA has refused to fix it, but Dr Person told her he could fix the finger, and after many setbacks the VA finally consented to having him do the surgery. When she called she was told he does not accept VA insurance. Seems to me that every doctor should accept veterans! Anyone know of a good hand surgeon who accepts VA insurance?
I went to Dr. Person for a second opinion after another doctor had told me I needed surgery. Dr. Person took the time to look at my injury and recommend an injection prior to proceeding with surgery and it worked. I really appreciate his expertise and willingness to give me the best care.
Dr person has been treating my thumb arthritis for about 2 years now with thumb injections. Always professional and gentle. My thumb is always very painful when I come in and I am always amazed that after a couple of days my thumb is pretty much pain free for about 2-2 1/2 months. Awesome doctor!
I would strongly encourage anyone with a hand problem to see Dr. Person. Great manner , explains everything , performed the procedure expertly , and most of all assured me my condition would get better. I have referred two people with a similar condition and he helped them as well. Excellent staff , very willing to help with complicated insurance matters.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
I have been a Nurse for 20+ years. I recently had a surgical experience w Dr Person. It was GREAT!! The whole process went flawless and smooth. My hands a million x better. I highly recommend Dr Person for any of your surgical needs as he did such wonderful work! The MA staff in his office are also friendly and efficient. I absolutely find the negative responses bizarre. I had never heard of Dr Person until I was referred to him by my PCP....so glad!
My mother used Dr Person after an emergency ring finger amputation. She had to have surgery in December to remove the bone in the hand and reposition everything. Dr Person was amazing, absolutely loved him!! His staff was awesome too! Even though I live 5 hours away, now that I have been diagnosed with De Quarvain's, that isn't responding to treatment, I am seriously considering making the drive to San Antonio to have Dr Person do the surgery!
