I went to Dr. Pho as a new patient, and my experience was very uncomfortable. As a young woman, it is already intimidating to book and attend appointments, so I expected a basic level of professionalism and respect. One of the most concerning issues was the lack of privacy. I was instructed to remove my clothes, yet Dr. Pho entered the room without knocking a total of five times. Each time I was not fully dressed and exposed. The first time he said “oh sorry,” but it continued to happen multiple times after that, which made the situation even more uncomfortable. Multiple occasions nurses would apologize on behalf of Dr. Pho walking in unannounced. I was referred to this office through a family member, and when I shared who it was, Dr. Pho proceeded to read and discuss her medical history with me. This is a direct violation of HIPAA and patient confidentiality, which was extremely concerning. When I had questions, I felt more comfortable asking the nurses. However, when the nurse stepped out to relay my question, I overheard Dr. Pho say, “why is she waiting the last possible minute to ask me a question, we have a schedule to keep.” While I understand the importance of staying on schedule, I arrived 20 minutes early, which should have allowed enough time for checking in and being seen. Overall, I left feeling uncomfortable. I will not be returning to Dr. Pho, and neither will my family member.

I have no words to express what a complete and udder failure this practice is. From the rude receptionist, to Dr. Pho himself. If you don't want to practice medicine and care for patients then why are you in business? Incompetence is an understatement!!!!! Save yourself time and frustration because that's all you'll receive here, if you can even get them to answer phones or follow through with simple requests.

Dr. Pho is one of those rare doctors in San Antonio where you walk in and think oh wow, this feels great. He actually listens, takes his time, explains what’s going on without rushing you out the door or making you feel like you need a medical dictionary, which already puts him in the top 1 percent of healthcare, and throws in the occasional joke and remembers my stories, history, and even the names of my parents! The team is friendly, things run smoothly, and you leave feeling better instead of more confused than when you arrived. If you’ve ever left a doctor’s office wondering what just happened, this is the opposite of that. Highly recommend!
