Terrible first experience . I had an appointment scheduled for May 23 for my mother as she has had high blood pressure for a while now . I had been In contact for the appointment and had been getting calls to confirm . And now they call to cancel the appointment and are telling us that Dr.Alvarez will not be able to see my mother until July ! Terrible and unorganized and they have no care for the sick .

The staff informed me after I traveled 1.5 hrs for my appointment that the appointment was cancelled. I was not informed of the cancellation and they made no attempt to try to work me in despite the fact that I am experiencing symptoms. They told me to come back in 90 days. It seems like the staff is making medical decisions.

Met with Alfred Montgomery, PA-C. He is a very professional man, with great bed side manners. He was very knowledgeable and intelligent gentleman.

I am a new patient trying to make an initial appointment. I have left messages for 4 days and nobody returns my calls. Today I talked to a person answering the phone and was assured that Crystal, the secretary would call me as soon as she gets in. That was more than a hour ago and still no call back. I asked for the office manager's number but was told there was no alternate number and there was no way to speak with an office manager. So, today is Friday. I have been calling since Monday and have not been able to speak to anyone at the doctor's office. If I didn't need to see a cardiologist I wouldn't be calling. I really don't understand the lack of caring and common courtesy from this doctor's staff.

My mother loves dr Alvarez, yet every appointment gets cancelled, every time we call we get these rude woman who just transfer don’t listen then do not answer the phone and the tell us to just call later. They have thee rudest answering people.

Introduced himself at beginning of stress test and never saw him during my stay at hospital. Didn't trouble himself to come by to do discharge or nothing.

1st visit was fine. After that I was ignored. Stress test scheduled for me with NO insurance was going to cost $15,000 so I informed the test provider that I could NOT pay $15,000 CASH. After that I made 3 calls to Dr. Alvarez's office before one was returned. At that point I was informed by the rude woman calling back that "there was nothing else Dr. Alvarez could do for me." I suggest finding another doctor, that's what I did !

My Father was a patient of Dr. Alvarez. Staff and Doctor both rude and unwilling to take time for patient and their spouse/caregiver so as to continue care during chemotherapy. Unfortunately, my father passed away recently and quite suddenly in his battle with cancer which weakened his heart. I would not recommend Dr. alvarez whatsoever, beware!!

Physicians and Staff @ Cardiology Clinic San Antonio: Cardiologists: Tolymat, Alvarez & Contreras & their Office Staffs are all wonderful, friendly & professional!!! I am in good, competent hands!!! I am doing wonderful after my Pacemaker & Heart Valve Procedures!!! I got my life back thanks to all of these professionals!!!

I was a patient of Dr. Alvarez for over 12 years, and having moved from San Antonio recently, I'm hoping I find as competent and caring a doctor near my new home. I am grateful for the quality of life I enjoy now, due in large part to the diagnosis, treatment and long term follow-up by Dr. Alvarez. I always felt I was in good hands with him.
