Doc Seger great doctor

Dr. Michael Seger is the best, most caring and compassionate doctor that we have ever dealt with. He literally saved my daughter's life. He was present and actively involved in her treatment in the hospital and after discharge. He always made sure that he did what was right. He contacted me personally and always made sure that I understood what was going on with her treatment. I am eternally grateful.

Dr. Seger was thorough and really worked to help me to figure out what was wrong when another doctor let me down. I am feeling so much better. The staff at BMI is great! I am so glad I made the decision to go. Janice has been working with me on my nutrition and she is so knowledgeable, personable and willing to help.

Very disappointed in the service I got from this doctor, he changed my surgery from the gastric bypass to the gastric sleeve I after 6 months the weight stopped coming off & after 2 years I'm still over 300 lbs. He tried to blame me for not losing more weight and I did everything those uneducated dieticians. I'm still working on trying to get the rest of this weight off constantly modifying & re-modifying my diet & exercise!! This surgery (the gastric sleeve) is "ONLY" for people who need to lose 50-100 lbs. I know several people who got the gastric sleeve where the same thing happened to them that happened to me!! My advice to "ANYONE" getting the weight loss surgery is to stick to your guns & the surgery "YOU" choose to get these doctors who recommend the gastric sleeve already know that you will not lose very much weight with the gastric sleeve & I'm living proof of that!!! UPDATE: SEPTMBER 2017 (4 1/2 years post surgery). I'm still over 300lbs and not only am I headed back into my wheelchair because I am now more physically limited because my body isn't tolerating this weight and in constant severe physical pain not only that I now have 2 hernias that need medical attention/treatment and cannot get it because only a bariatric surgeon can do the surgery an I cannot get the treatment I need which is surgery for the hernias!! I don't even trust any of the bariatric surgeons here in the state of Texas because of what Dr Seger has done to me and I'm stuck because Medicare will only pay for a "1" time deal for weight loss surgery and I got screwed really bad from him!!! Update 2019: I'm still over 300lbs and have been diagnosed with Lupus and Sjogrins, I can no longer do anything for myself either!! Over the past few years I found out that Medicare and Medicaid don't and won't pay very much at all for medical care and all the doctors know this so you get very little to no medical care at all anymore, the bariatric surgeons know this as well and will work hard to convince you that another surgery would be a better choice knowing full well about the way Medicare and Medicaid work so they convince you to take a different surgery knowing that you'll fail especially because the dieticians won't give you the right information if any at all for the new diet you're supposed to consume to lose the weight. I don't trust doctors anymore and will never go to another doctor ever again because of how I was treated by Dr Seger and his staff and because all the doctors are writing Rx medications that hurt you more than they help you and now my life is on the line as a result because Big Pharma pays big bucks ty o doctors who poison people with these meds all because of greed!!! Money talks and BS walks!! Right Dr and Dr Seger!!!

UPDATE 12-2019: So I found that Dr. M Seger has responded to my comment unfortunately he’s trying to make it look once again that my failed weight loss is still “MY FAULT” he mentioned that we made the decision together to change the surgery and that certain medical reasons were the reason for the change but my medical issues had nothing to do with it because of so he would’ve said something earlier when I first came to him and he never said a word to me about changing the surgery “UNTIL” it was time to “SCHEDULE” my surgery date!! For 9 years I fought to get the Gastric Bypass Surgery and it took that long because Medicare kept making changes and I couldn’t find a professionally qualified doctor to perform the surgery, I researched every bit of information about the gastric bypass surgery and never knew anything about the sleeve (I had my heart set on getting the gastric bypass surgery only) until the day of scheduling the surgery!! I had a lap-band surgery six years ago, and have not really loved it from the beginning. I wanted an "easy" fix, and that isn't what weight loss surgery IS. I still had to plan and eat right and do all the right things and I wasn't doing that. Add to the fact that six years ago, the office had a different fill person, and I didn't set myself up for success. I ended up with an over-filled band for three+ years because I didn't mesh with the person that was doing fills! I recently went in because my discomfort was just too much to handle, thinking that my band slipped or some other major issue, and the new fill person, Nicole Harris changed my life! She took the time to listen to me and reduced the fill in my band, improving how I feel exponentially. I started weight watchers recently, and am hopeful the combo of a working lap-band and the program will really help me become healthier. Thanks Nicole. You changed my life this week! <3

I have been a patient of Dr. Seger since 2004. He always made me feel like I would be OK. He took his time to explain everything to me. Dr. Seger is the best surgeon out there in my opinion for the gastric-by-pass. I weighed 358 lbs in the beginning and here I am 150 lbs 12 years later still at my goal weight. Thank you Dr. Seger for always being there.

DR. Seger has a great bedside manner and is very friendly. My surgery went great and so did my recovery. I usally heal well from surgery but this time my incisions just looked great from the beginning, like little scratches. Overall great experiance!

I want everyone to know that I am happy to part og Dr. Seger patient. Even though he wasn't the surgeon who did my lap band. He made me feel as if he was there and accepted me. I recenlty moved from Illinois to Texas and was having the hardest time locating a doctor who would help me continue my weight loss goal. Many doctors will not take any outside patients unless it is an emergancy since they didn't do the procedure. I felt as I was just born to lose my battle with being obese. Then one of Illinois nurses called me and gave me Dr. Seger number. I want everyone to know that all of his staff are the greatest. They help you and they are there for you.
