Dr. Richard Shaffer who currently completed a Colonoscopy is by far the best physician practicing this procedure and one that you will not be apprehensive about when you choose him. This is my second time having done this procedure in over 10 years but my first here in Gastroenterology Consultants of San Antonio. Dr. Shaffer staff from the Anesthesiology a Dr, herself to the preparation team were excellent. They explain in details what the procedure consist of how long it will last and ask all kind of questions about your medications etc. It makes me feel comfortable. Dr. Shaffer speaks to you before the procedure as if he has know you a long time. I liked that very much. When the procedure is over he will let you know the results and give you a printed copy of his findings. Additionally he will call you the day after to make sure you are doing fine and to call him if you need to discuss anything related to the procedure I just had the day before. Thank you Dr, Shaffer.

When you don't remember anything... its a good thing. The medical team was amazing. The procedure was explained. I wasn't confused or nervous because there was someone always there to ensure I was comfortable. Glad I don't need to go back for a while but Im glad I do have a place to go where I feel safe and taken care of.

If a colonoscopy could ever be rated a 5 star experience, it would be with Dr. Richard Shaffer! He and his staff put me at ease before the procedure, and afterwards were attentive and took time to explain the results. Definitely would recommend Dr. Shaffer

Endoscopy: All went as scheduled with no problems. Anesthesiologist was great, and in my opinion there's no better grastroenterologist than Dr. Shaffer.
