Great Service from a Family Practitioner I have been seeing Dr. Zarate for several years. He has guided me to get and keep my blood sugar under control. I trust him absolutely! I have worked to bring most of my family there because he is courteous and helpful.

I'm totally happy with my PCP and his office staff. I've been seeing him for over 10 years now. Dr. R. Zarate is very knowledgeable, and I trust his decision-making with my care. So glad I found him!!! Definitely a diamond in the rough. Thank you for all the yrs!!

I just called the office of Dr. Zarate, and when I asked if they are accepting new patients they responded with "yes." Then her question was, "what insurance do you have?" I replied with Ambetter, she then placed me on a brief hold and when she retured she said, " ok, yeah, we are not accepting new patients." This sounded suspicious, I shared with her that the status on his profile with the insurance states he is currently accepting new patients under Ambetter, but their front office receptionist denied it. I am disappointed with the misleading status on both parties. Please call insurance and have them update his status. Thank you!

Claims to accept my insurance then when I try to to make an appointment they say they are not accepting it at this time. Website says they do!

When my father was alive and under his care I had to beg nurses to please have him talk with me about my father's condition and I did not hear from him for weeks. Good thing he doesn't need any referrals, because he already has easy arrangements with nursing homes and hospice, who tolerate his inattentiveness.

I absolutely love Dr. Zarate and his staff!! I think I was his 3rd or 4th patient when he opened his practice in San Antonio. I met him in 2007 when the Nix downtown had an E.R. He found a blood clot in my leg before it reached my heart. But being in my 20's at that time all I cared about was missing my flight to Vegas for my honeymoon. After a few days in the hospital he allowed me to go only if my husband agreed to learn how to give me my injections. He set me up with a blood work lab and a Dr in Las Vegas!! He has been my primary ever since. And he himself has gone above and beyond for me. I've known every member of his staff and even have their personal phone numbers in case I need them. I will always recommend him and I will always appreciate the attentiveness he gives me.And if I need an emergency appointment and he is not in Mrs. Dr. Zarate will always step in. My husband and I have seen them both and I don't have a single complaint. Oh and by the way I never have a wait time!!
