I came in voluntarily because of insomnia, The doctor and medical team did not once prescribe me insomnia medication instead tried to give me antipsychotics, Then the medical team tried the wrongfully court mandate me and then they decided to randomly let me go. Unprofessional They give a PhD to anybody nowadays.

Used to be a patient here 10 years ago im the adolescent unit and this place sucked bad and still have bad memories and this place needs to ne shut down fast because when you are a adult and you come here there's no going back in the free

I was forcibly sent here 3 times when I was a kid back in '97 and '98. The staff was very rude and disrespectful, and they would drop your level for the pettiest things. They would also give you tranquilizers for just the slightest sign of aggression. They would also tackle you whether you were a boy or a girl and physically abuse you. I had staff threaten my life, a staff member put his hand around my throat, and they would also just sit there or walk away while someone was beating me up. They talked to you aggressively and abusively. Complaints to Dr. Lori Thompson or Dr. Jeffrey Long or even to Clients' Rights didn't help because they would always brush it off. Staff would lie about your behavior and accuse you of things you didn't do. The doctors didn't care about the patients, they would only be interested in drugging you up, and if you refused the drugs you would be disciplined. I remember the staff member named Nestor Trevino was very rude to people but showed favoritism towards others. Another staff member named Bernard Watson was also very threatening and rude to people. This place should be defunded and torn down and every staff member should be tracked down and arrested and put in prison for endangering the welfare of a minor, child abuse, assault on a child causing bodily injury, etc. Dr. Lori Thompson and Dr. Jeffrey Long should have their licenses yanked as well as every doctor that used to work there. Very unprofessional and dangerous for kids. It wasn't a rehabilitation center for youth, it was like a prison. Parents, DO NOT send your children here. They will hate you for it and come out more violent and angry then before they went in, because thats what happened to me.

Employees at SASH work hard mentally and physically to offer clients their best care.

Not sure about now, but patients were not separated by gender. To have male and females together is absolutely unconscionable. Aside from getting mistreated imagine how many have left with an STI or worse or with a surprise 9months later

If you as a person want your mental health family to be treated by you and your staff like a dog. And treated by your Doctor like A dog go work there. I as a Nuse with professionalism, emparhy and understanding of mental health. I know my job. This is the worst. My son is stuck here with an incompetent staff and Doctors who talk and treat you like shit. But remember you have to live also. You need a job go to MC DONALDS. THEY DONT CARE EITHER

I would never take any of my family members to be cared for by the state. Never, ever, ever. Most all these people who work here are there for the paycheck and not because they care for the patients. There is a lot of cover-up going on and nothing will ever change due to everybody knows everybody and they all cover up for each other. There have been many times when a patient dies, falls or gets hurt or does self-harm due to employees not watching these patients. They are too busy having sex in the patient bathrooms. Do not take your loved ones to the state hospital.

Came here when I was a kid. Watched my room mate kill herself. Forced us to take random pills everyday. They drugs you up and Put you in a wheelchair strapped down if you step even slightly out of line. Oh and it’s also super haunted. Please for the love of god STOP SENDING YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!

SASH is a wonderful state hospital for people with mental health issues. The staff do their best to care for these folks in a kind, caring and respectful manner. It's not an easy place to work but most people come because they care about helping others.
