Iwas referred by the county for a mental assessment and “qualified” for service despite not showing ANY symptoms for the last year. I went back to request an itemized statement and was told itll be emailed to me and im STILL waiting 3 days later . They had an attitude about them already giving me a receipt but since i paid with my fsa i need an itemized statement. If you have insurance GO SOMEWHERE ELSE
Goodluck if you have a EMERGENCY, no one answers the phone they completely ignore you and fail to help you. Don’t believe the 24hrs on the website it’s a lie honestly your better off at another facility. Horrible service very unprofessional.
Health care at it's best
I have been here 6 years and I love this clinic. It has helped me so much in my recovery. They charge based on income so for me since I'm low income its free. This is one of 3 clinics in San Antonio who charge like this. Others charge 11 to 20 dollars a day! I love that they have programs for the mommy's and they have a free primary care clinic for us. The staff is great except their are 2 individuals that are just very rude to clients. I am a very nice individual and I am very respectful even if I have someone who is not so nice to me. I find that the lady at the front financial desk is so very rude to clients in the 6 years I have been there. She treats people very rude, me being one of them. I have never treated her with disrespect. She one day had 3 people in line and another staff member asked her can I help you with one of the clients and their paperwork. She said "No they can stand there and wait". It made me feel like I was no one. When your at a doctors office you treat a patient with respect and you be courteous and you do your job efficiently and in a timely manner to get them in and out. She completely disregards clients and their feelings. I have heard her speak very unkind to clients as well. It is very sad. Another person who is disrespectful and does not seem to want to be there at all is a dosing nurse. I don't know her name because I have only been to her window so much over the 6 years. She sits at the middle window and I have seen and heard her be so very mean to clients. I asked her one time if a certain medication interferes with methadone. She shrugged her shoulders and said I don't know! I believe dosing nurses should know these things. Any nurse or doctor who works at a methadone clinic should know what interferes with methadone, how other medications interact with methadone, what you should and should not take with it. If they don't know by heart thry should have a list they can check. Beside those 2 women, the other staff are very respectful, nice, and doesn't treat us like we're just addicts. They actually care about our recovery and us as people not just people who were addicts. I have had great experiences at this clinic except when in front those 2 women. There are a few things I like to see change....the dosing hours extended to 2pm, the takehomes given on a case by case basis and extended to 2 weeks for those who have worked hard to stay sober and get clean UA's and are model clients, i would like to see them take away rapid detox of the methadone because it is very dangerous for any individual on methadone and instead come up with a better detox plan that isn't so fast. I would like to see multiple back up plans put in place incase of computer shut downs, extreme weather, or emergencies. I would also like to see all the staff especially the dosing nurses and doctors go through methadone training where they learn what interacts with methadone, what is good and not good to take with it, how methadone affects the body with certain diagnosis like hypothyroidism, diabetes, cancer and so on, how extreme heat and physical activity interferes with the dose levels in our body. How to do a peak and through test for clients, how methadone affects pregnant women, and anything else that can help them understand symptoms clients have on methadone and without methadone. I also think it would be good for them to learn the withdrawals of methadone and how severe they can be especially when you decrease and detox off of methadone too fast. Despite everything I wish they would change I am grateful for the things they have changed so far. They have done a great job cleaning up the clinic and kicking those out who abuse methadone, who sell their methadone, who aren't on methadone for the right reasons, who use methadone as a drug to get high off, and who deals and buys drugs and pills in front of the cclinic Ihated seeing that especially when trying to get sober.
Big changes.. dont know why doctors who are either anti methadone or clueless about methadone maintenance choose to work at a methadone clinic.WeMean doctors to encourage the patients to remain on methadone if it keeps them from usingTheir drugs of choice.Instead we get doctors who want to Rush's off of methadoneKnowing thatWe cannot maintainSobrietyOn our ownWhat you asked us to perform multitude of tests that serve no purpose but frustration.
These people are ignorant. Especially the front desk receptionists. I came here as a walk-in after they gathered my information. Arrived 730 and was not taken back til 1015. Got a doctors appointment for 2 days later and requested a doctors note. They are unable to email it so I come to the clinic and it's not ready like I was told it would be. They have no concern for your life. I don't have all day to be sitting up here for a note. Also, this establishment is money hungry. They ask for proof of income and insurance. So I'm billed based off what I make and they go thru insurance. I'm paying more than I would at a psychiatrist office.
My ex went there this week for heroin addiction and wanted help this is bot the first time hes gone back in march before the virus hit he was there and they never submitted a referral for a Rehab place. This week 20 July 20. He was told there was no beds and he should have gone that past weekend!! And to come back next Tues 28 July 20 which to an ADDICT is a long time and if he/ she is asking for help they should help them. I asked the Hispanic dark male with tattoos who called him and took him to the back and told him to go back on the 28th if July if there was no room sooner because he has no where to go and will go back to the streets. His response was I guess he has to do what he has to do! Most dont care for the addicted only a handful who work there honestly care. I hope his boss reads this and knows who it is and he gets a conduct report. This place needs a whole new make over with new Higher ups or humbled folks who really want to help those who go in addict or not!!!
The process with this business is horrible, I feel bad for some of the people who visit at the crisis center here because they are not there to heal your mental health issues. They isolate you with 15 other people in a room with you, they take everything away from you, and you lay there for hours being punished. They pump you with drugs and give you 3 meals a day. When I was there after alcohol withdrawals, I felt like I was in a detention center for 19 hours isolated when I already have isolation issues, I feel like my mental health has worsened since then. Most nurses in that building is not kind to the clients and how the room that is set up for clients is not welcoming at all. I would not recommend this place for people who simply wants a therapist.
They take long, have several employees standing around laughing and talking, took us about an hour and half wait time just for a verification letter.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
