Tomy Starck's Online Review Report Card

I've been a patient gor 5 years. I've seen Dr. Harrison the majority of the time. He very knowledgeable and patient. His staff is very helpful and professional.

Update on the review: This is not about Dr Starck, but about his office and office manager - Sorry, but their "so called warranty is useless". I chose Dr Starck becuase his office offered warranty/free correction. However after one of the appointments I asked about warranty and office manager was really mean, found excuse not to honor the warranty and sarcastically suggested "to pay another $4000 and they can do correction right next day". I decided to get glasses instead of paying for service that they were "warrantying" The best eye doctor in San Antonio. My wife wanted to get LASIK and I was very concerned about the surgery as any problem would create big problems in life and at work. Dr. Starck made us both very comfortable, explained everything, and addressed all concerns. The second day after surgery my wife went to work full time. She has perfect vision without glasses and she couldn't be happier.

Dr. Starck saved my son’s eye after the opthalmologists at Vanderbilt wanted to remove the eye due to an advanced corneal infection. After Dr. Starck examined my son’s eye, he scheduled surgery for a corneal transplant for the following week. Because of Dr. Starck’s superior skill, he saved my son’s eye. Miraculously, my son now has 20/60 vision in that eye! Dr. Starck and his staff are pleasant and caring. I would highly recommend him!

While other companies offer a free exam to determine eligibility for lasik, this one charges several hundred dollars for the exam.

Basically a marketing scheme. They don’t care about the person, only if you can pay.. Waited for weeks and finally received a call basically extorting money and getting me an appointment immediately. Wanted money before I even saw a doctor! I really don’t need a customer service representative to tell me what services I need. There is more but please don’t use availability as your market. They have appointments quickly for a reason.

Overall, the medical experience was a positive one. However when it came to financing, dealing with their financing department, and what I was told about it; the information and mood was totally a high pressure sales environment! It was very clear that the main person trying to set up my procedure did not really care about my credit and what it would take to accomplish the end result. I've taken a hard credit hit to my credit history thanks to this office, when I wasn't sure I even wanted to choose them! Just be aware that if you seek financing from them, your credit will take a hard credit check hit! Yet they will tell you they don't know which checks are involved! But if this is true, then they have no idea what they are doing by offering such financing. I seriously doubt the lady I dealt with had no idea about what she was doing.
