Solomon Howard's Online Review Report Card

If you are looking for a doctor that is gonna beat around the proverbial bush and soft soap what he tells you, then you had better go to someone else. Dr Solomon tells it like it is. He is knowledgeable and matter of fact. I have been going to him for a long while, He diagnosed my prostate cancer, and recommended treatment, as well as the doctor in San Antonio to perform the procedures. He has done my follow up. I could not ask for more.

Great Dr. Has helped me since 2008.

My husband went to the small emergency clinic where we live and they inserted a catheter. They told him he had urinary retention and needed to see a urologist and they recommend a urologist who just happened to be out of the office for two weeks so they referred him to Dr. Solomon. We went there and they were not very friendly. The nurse took the cath out and it was very painful. Then Dr. Solomon came in and basically laid back in his chair all casual like and was not professional at all. He went there twice where he had to pay a $50.00 co-pay each time and all they did was remove the cath. They were going to do an ultrasound but couldn't get their old timey machine to work so they blew it off. After a couple of days my husband went to a new urologist in San Antonio who performed surgery on him. Do not waste your health, time, or money seeing Dr. Solomon.

During my visit with this man he took a look at me and said “well there doesnt look like theres anything wrong with you, i dont know what tell you”. If you are in pain do not go see this man. Please give your money to someone who cares and will help you. He's not it.

Absolutely the worst. His staff was so incompetent. They took my ID & insurance card. I prepped a sample for my exam, then sat in the waiting area. After an hour of waiting, I was informed I couldn't see the Dr. until my records were entered into computer. The office did not have records from my PCP, I was told. When I called my PCP, they told me my records had been faxed twice, but they still didn't have them. They had two weeks before my appointment to let me know something. In addition, they nearly lost my ID & insurance card! I demanded a refund of my copay, then made a appt with the other Urologist in town, whose staff and the Dr were very professional.Only reason this review has one star is because no negative stars are available for rating.

Dr. Howard Solomon is probably the most knowledgeable doctor in his field this side of San Antonio. I'm used to being seen by Directors of Medicine at UTMB, and since I've moved here a few years ago, Dr. Howard Solomon has been, by FAR, the best doctor I have seen since moving here, and I have almost impossibly high standards for medical professionals...especially doctors who are specialists in their field. He has decades of experience, is highly knowledgeable, and cares about the wellbeing of his patients. He's extremely logical and to the point, though, so if you can't handle that, maybe you should go elsewhere. I've had kidney issues since birth, am 37 years old, have had my first 32 years of care at UTMB Galveston and seen a plethora of doctors, nurses, students, right up to top level Directors of Medicine there. I moved out here to Smiley 5 years ago and have seen at least 4 or 5 nephrologists, a few urologists, and other doctors in Gonzales, Seguin, Victoria, San Antonio and Austin since I've been living here. The ONLY one I have been impressed by is Dr. Howard Solomon. Like I said, he REALLY knows what he's doing. If you expect a physician to coddle you and make you feel warm and fuzzy, he may not be the doctor for you. He is, however, the ONLY doctor in his field I will see, because I truly appreciate his knowledge, intelligence, and ability to perform his duties as a physician.

Dr. Solomon diagn osed my issue and performed surgery that literally saved my life. I have never had a doctor that has spent so much time with me and explained things so well. My surgery was 3 weeks ago and he and his nurses still call to check on me.

Excellent care and explains health issue very well. Makes patient feel comfortable and takes time to explain the issues. Office staff and his nurse are very kind and friendly.
