Not the best experience. My first visit with Dr.Varia was rushed. The medical assistant never answers the phone. I kept calling back for my ct results and even left a voicemail. Never got a call back. Disappointed overall. Had to switch to another GI doctor who is currently taking care of me now, and figuring out the root cause of it. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

I do not recommendDr.Varia.I recently had severe GI issues. Dr Varia was not able to fine a cause.He put me on Carafate & omeprazol. he said to take it for 2 weeks & he would call me to see how I was doing.He set up a time& date for the call. I checked with his office that morning to see if I was to call him or was he calling me. He did not call. I have made at least 4: callers to his office, asking what I am to do now. Continue on medication? Discontinue? I spoke to his assistant about my concerns. She said she messaged him.my original phone call should have been on July 28. Today is Aug. 6.I have not heard back.Beware!!!!

Dr Vari's medical assistant is kind, professional, accessible, and caring. Thank you Dr. Vari for having such a caring medical assistant.

Great all the way around, from consult to procedure.! Would highly recommend.

He orders test Stat, tells you to get with office as soon as test is done , he and his office will not respond , no one to talk to, takes two weeks to reply for medication or any of your needs. As a patient with other Doctors at Methodist, he is the worse to provide care when needed. All my Doctors at Methodist, someone responds with in 48 hours. Big let down when your suffering.

My husband visited Dr. Varia back in September complaining about stomach pain and had a Cat scan of the lower GI tract in October. No one had contacted him after two weeks and he decided to call the contract person and was told if results were serious Dr. Varia would've been contacted him earlier. On November 7, 2021 my husband was rushed to the emergency room complaining about sever stomach pain and the ER doctor ordered another Cat scan and saw a large mass embedded in his Rectum. He was immediately transported by ambulance to the hospital to have emergency surgery for stage 3 colon/rectal cancer. The emergency room couldn't understand how a specialist could have missed this large mass. If I could this doctor would get zero stars. I would never recommend him to any of my family or friends.

The system is broken

I used Dr. Apurv Varia for a colonoscopy on 01 Dec 2020. I was impressed with him during our initial meeting in September. He did a great job. Procedure was completed without any complication and my recovery was very quick. I highly recommend him.

I don't understand this practice.The doctor (not Varia) never touches the patient, but writes a report saying chest clear to auscultation, normal bowel sounds present, etc. No one calls back with lab results. If you call and choose the option to LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR THE DOCTOR'S ASSISTANT - she will answer and put you on hold for 6 to 15 minutes.... It's too confusing. There are many OTHER options in The Woodlands - why didn't I choose those! 1st Appt Jan 29 with EXTREME pain -- today is March 3 - no resolution... UNBELIEVABLE

I am a new patient with Dr. Varia. I must say he is one of the best physicians I have ever had. Dr V is young, yes. But he has the maturity and manner that is outstanding. Go to visit him.....
